A rough start into 2024
For several years, I have been trying to set goals for myself and of course I tried to reach them. I did the same for 2024. At the end of December of the previous year, I set my goals for this year. Basically, my objective is to reach 72'000 Hive Power and 15'000 HBD in my savings by 31.12.2024.
Things aren't going according to plan so far
What I can say is that things aren't going according to plan at all so far. Not only, have I missed to track my goals until now, I also didn't manage to create nearly enough posts to be on track for my goals.
Since the beginning of the year, I only created 11 posts. I have to say that I went on discovery expeditions through other ecosystems. This took a lot of energy and time that I didn't have to create Hive posts. I have learned quite a lot by doing that so I wouldn't say that it was lost time. But of course it comes with a price. When you have limited time at your disposal and you do other stuff, then it reflects on your productivity.
Way behind target
To track my progress, I compare the percentage of my progress with the percentage of the elapsed time so far. From the moment I have set my goals (21.12.2023) until the end of the year, there are 376 days. So far, 78 days have passed. This means that 20.74% of the period has elapsed until now.
To be on track would mean that 20.74% of my goals would be reached by this date. Unfortunately, this isn't the case.

The data shows that I'm way behind my benchmark. The most obvious reason is that I didn't create enough posts so far and also I didn't invest my income from the 2nd layer into hive. I did that in the past and now I'm using these funds for my discovery journeys into other blockchains. So far I immersed myself into Solana, Deso and ICP.
My other projects
What maybe doesn't appear here is the time that I invest into my projects on Hive that are Liotes and CTPSB. I write 2 to 3 posts per week for Liotes and I create at least 1 weekly post for CTPSB. The rewards from these posts go 100% into the projects and therefore they have no direct influence for my personal goals. However, it's great to see how both projects are evolving. When looking at the charts of CTPSB and LEN, I think that the time is well invested...

It's not so bad, nobody would complain about an investment that earns 10 - 12% interest. I think both projects, CTPSB and LEN are fantastic.

Maybe the goal was not so feasible. Don't put so much weight on something like that!! 12k HP is too much hehehe. good luck!

When you have posts to write/record for other projects (also your own), it's difficult to keep up with writing on your own blog more often. But still, the progress is okay, given that we stopped the 1000 powerups on HPUDs.
Yes that changed the progress quite drastically. It's still growing but of course the rate is not comparable.
It sucks to hear that you are behind but I am sure you can get back on track. Shouldn't things get easier after CTPSB moved to following Liotes? Or is the saved time not that large?
I definitely manage to save some time with ctpsb now but it entered into effect only a week or two ago. So it will take some time to translate in more posts :-)
So much I have learnt and unlearn already in 2024 and I strongly believe there are still many more years to come about that

Well, in dollar terms, things don't look that bad. I have to admit :-)
Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours in a day and we are not always productive. Breathing means inhaling and exhaling. Not to mention the personal constraints.
Like you, I'm currently travelling outside of Hive. Lbry/Odysee for 4 years and recently joined DeSo. And I wouldn't want to miss the knowledge and insights. Web3 Social Media is slowly coming out of the shadows
I think that it's important to follow what is happening outside of hive. There are many interesting projects and I believe that we need to keep our minds as open as possible :-)

You are behind to your target but better if you progress on the hive at a slower. Because in 24 hours a person has to breathe and eat something. Hahaha

Driven by quality not quantity I tend to shy away from too many projects at the same time, perhaps it's simply taking it a bit slower than some years ago.
Strive toward achieving your goals is an excellent mindset to have.

I think that it's pretty normal that we tend to slow down over time. I definitely don't feel the same ambition that I used too and I tend to pay attention to some different stuff nowadays :-)
Priorities alter over time, no one stays the same, well I hope not or we would stagnate.
