It's HPUD and another 1000 Hive staked!
My tradition survives one more month. It's the 9th month in a row that I manag to power up 1000 Hive around the beginning of a month. As I say every month, it's getting more and more difficult to do it but I managed again.
This month, the big chunk of these 1000 Hive came from DEC that I sold during the month. I'm reducing my stake in DEC and selling around 5 to 10k every day. I still have more than 300k of DEC and again about as much in diesel pools. It's too much in my opinion. I will need some DEC for staking with the land expansion but otherwise, I still want to reduce my money that is in the Splinterlands game. I will probably sell around 200k DEC then keep what remains for staking on Land.
Shall I give up my HBD goals?
My targets for 2023 are to reach 60'000 Hive Power and 16'000 HBD. I've set these goals at the end of 2022 when it seemd much easier to collect HBD. With lower Hive prices, post rewards in HBD decrease and it gets more difficult to collect them.

When I look at the situation today, after 66.5% of the year have passed. I see that I'm close to the benchmark for HP but falling more and more behind for HBD. I also see that I earn less and less HBD every month. The question I ask myself is whether I should put my HBD goals on hold and concentrate on my Hive goals. I'd like to reach rather one goal than no goal at all.
This month my HBD stake has grown by 232 where 200 come from interests.
My strategy for the rest of the year
What I will do from now on is to use all the HBD earnings from posts and buy Hive with it. I believe like that I will be able to reach my Hive goal before the end of the year. If I manage to do that, I will then use my resources to get some more HBD. The idea is to put all my focus on Hive Power first and then on HBD. I hope that by doing this, I will at least reach on of my goals.

After few posts in June and July, I managed to create 10 posts in August. This is a great number for me and I hope I will be able to keep this amount of posts for the coming months.

Great work powering up 1k Hive. 9 months in a row is huge. I think it makes sense to focus on the Hive goal at the moment, it should pay off down the line more.
The fact that I try to reach both goals actually reduces the focus and I also think that with current prices it's better to concentrate on Hive Power at the moment.

The 1000 Hive that I powered up came from Splinterlands and Hive Engine tokens. I managed to grow the account by about 500 Hive this month from post and curation rewards.

I also think so. It's really difficult to accumulate HBD and if I use HBD to buy Hive at these prices, I actually grow hive much faster :-)

Regarding your goals, it's hard to do HP and HBD at the same time... If we have a half-year bear market and another half-year a bull market, it would be ideal to build both goals in "their time"... 😃
I begin to see it also like that. It's very difficult to build the HBD stake at the moment and I kind of regret not buying Hive with my HBD when prices are so low.

I would as well focus on hive (power) in this environment. I believe Hive could atleast double in price in the coming years, so it makes more sense to stack up Hive than hbd which will stay around $1
It's definitely true that we should fill the bags of coins with upward potential in bear markets and buy stable coins at the top of bull markets :-)

I think HBD goals are viable when one is neck deep in the bear market. But approaching bull, prioritizing hive will make more sense. I think building HBD goals is better during a bull season because of hive price.

Well 10x less is also a lot if cumulated. I still profit from my big position in Splinterlands that I'm reducing over time :-)

I have never joined the Hive power up day but I'd begin to do so. I only power up everyday
The most important is to power up on a regular basis. I like to collect a lot of hive and power up on the first of a month but it's up to you how you want to do it :-)

Congrats on another 1k power-up! Yeah, trying to push both HP and HBD in this market is hard. The great thing is you have a nice chunk of HBD. Do you plan to keep it as HBD or change it to something else for the bull market?
I will keep the HBD and profit from the high interests but I will now concentrate on accumulating Hive which should be more profitable in a bull run (which hopefully will come one day)
Congrats! I don't think you need to give up your goals yet. There's still 4 months till 31st December. You never know when there could be an irrational HIVE pump to take advantage of to convert into HBD. 🤑
I honestly count a bit on that :-). So I push Hive while Hive prices are low and then when Hive goes up, I wil concentrate on HBD. Fingers crossed ;-)

We have an informal 1000k hive power up club :-). This motivates us to try to power up 1000 Hive every month.
