Pokemon Type Swap 9 — Fairy Ninetails
Welcome to Pokemon Type Swap!
In this series i will be taking classic pokemon and changing their type — creating a new, fresh look. I am currently picking pokemon in no particular order and choosing a type i think would fit. Comment any suggestions for future ones below.
Todays pokemon is Ninetails, i have chosen to draw it as a Fairy type.
Orginial Sketch & Outline
I decided to make the fur on Ninetails look more fluffy. I stuggled with this at first, due to it looking too similar to the original, but then came up with the design above. I redrew the outline and tidied up the image.
Colour & Shading
I went for pink for the tail and the bigger fur, and a light mint blue for the body, as these gave it a Fairy type feel. I then added a darker pink at the ends of the fur and added shading.
Background
I put Ninetails ontop of a cliff looking down and added clouds to show the height. I felt the original clouds didn’t match the style of art so went with a more cartoony look. I dont love how they turned out but they match the drawing better
