Let's Play "Praxis Fighter" (PICO-8) - Bullet Chaos

Praxis Fighter is a shoot 'em up game for PICO-8. The game follows a Fighter plane as it smashes through enemy lines. It's fast-paced and full of pretty animated visuals.

I like the intro, the in which an enemy truck attacks the crowd at the bottom of the screen. The player character breaks through the razor wired wall and jumps into the fighter plane. It felt surprisingly cinematic considering the low resolution of PICO-8.

In this playthrough, I made three attempts at finishing the first level of Praxis Fighter X. I gave up the second attempt early as I realized I lost my lives too quickly. I tried to do better in my third run. My current high score is 39093. I know I could do better next time.

Praxis Fighter X is one of the newer games on PICO-8. I found it via the "new" section of Splore, (the game's explorer for the console.) Would love to try more new games next time.

PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges.
