[Proof of Concept] HIVE-based Crypto 'Amazon Wishlist' Buying Website Using LeoMerchants

This article is a text-version Proof of Concept for an idea I had for a while. A service on HIVE that connects people with Amazon Wishlists (Shoppers) and people with Amazon Gift Blanaces (Earners) with an Escrow service. Shoppers choose the Items they want, and their budget in HBD. Earners would suggest paying for their Items with their Amazon Gift Balance, and recieve the HBD when the service is finalized.

If you heard of Monezon, Bitgree, or (the now defunct) Purse.io, my idea is exactly the same thing. Just based on HIVE instead of Bitcoin Cash or Monero. I have few ideas to make it better, such as expanding the escrow services to more than Amazon, and allowing Merchant accounts to sell their stuff directly, but I think just having Amazon is a good start.

I had the idea for a long time now, but hearing about the Leo Merchants project I think this would be one of the best use-cases for that service, so I'm naming my project (at least for now) after INLEO:

INLEOZON

For the sake of simplicity, I named the project INLEOZON, because in the best case scenario I want a dedicated team working on this working directly under INLEO's team. I'm not sure how copyright works on the blockchain, but I hope @khaleekazi won't mind me using the name.

Below is a mock-up generated with ChatGPT and improved with DeepSeek-R1 for what I expect the main page to look like:

Overview of INLEOZON User Experience

INLEOZON is a blockchain-based platform built on the HIVE blockchain, connecting Amazon shoppers with Earners who have available funds. The platform allows Earners to choose which shopper's wishlist to spend on, and acts as a mediator between the two parties. INLEOZON uses LeoMerchants as the payment gateway to convert any supported cryptocurrency to HBD, and offers an escrow service to ensure secure transactions.

Shopper Experience

  1. Onboarding
    • User lands on the INLEOZON homepage, where they can sign up or log in using a pseudo-anonymous user ID.
    • User creates an account by providing basic information (email, password, etc.) and verifying their email address.
    • User links their Amazon wishlist to their INLEOZON account.
  2. Wishlist Management
    • User can view and manage their Amazon wishlist on the INLEOZON dashboard.
    • User can add or remove items from their wishlist.
  3. Order Fulfillment
    • When an Earner chooses to spend on the shopper's wishlist, INLEOZON notifies the shopper via email.
    • Shopper receives the ordered items, which are shipped directly from Amazon.
  4. Order Tracking
    • Shopper can track their order status on the INLEOZON dashboard.
    • Shopper receives email updates on order processing, shipping, and delivery.
  5. Dispute Resolution
    • If a dispute arises, shopper can initiate a dispute resolution process through INLEOZON's escrow service.

Earner Experience

  1. Onboarding
    • User lands on the INLEOZON homepage, where they can sign up or log in using a pseudo-anonymous user ID.
    • User creates an account by providing basic information (email, password, etc.) and verifying their email address.
    • User links their cryptocurrency wallet to their INLEOZON account.
  2. Browse Wishlists
    • Earner browses available wishlists from shoppers, which include product details and desired discounts.
    • Earner selects a wishlist that matches their interests and available funds.
  3. Spend on Wishlist
    • Earner chooses to spend on the selected wishlist, and INLEOZON facilitates the transaction through LeoMerchants.
    • Earner's cryptocurrency is converted to HBD, which is used to purchase the items on the shopper's wishlist.
  4. Earn Rewards
    • Earner earns rewards in the form of HBD, which can be cashed out through LeoMerchants in any supported cryptocurrency.
    • Earner can track their rewards balance and redeem rewards.
  5. Cashout
    • Earner can cash out their HBD rewards through LeoMerchants, selecting their preferred cryptocurrency and payment method.

Key Features

  • Amazon wishlist integration
  • Earner-Shopper matching algorithm
  • Order fulfillment and tracking
  • Email notifications
  • Wishlist management
  • Escrow service for dispute resolution
  • LeoMerchants integration for cryptocurrency conversion and cashout
  • HIVE blockchain integration for pseudo-anonymous user IDs and transaction recording

Technical Requirements

  • Front-end: Build the user interface using a JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, etc.).
  • Back-end: Use a server-side programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, etc.) to handle API requests, Earner-Shopper matching, and order fulfillment.
  • Database: Design a database schema to store user information, wishlist data, and order records.
  • APIs: Integrate with Amazon APIs to fetch wishlist data, and with LeoMerchants to facilitate cryptocurrency conversion and cashout.
  • HIVE blockchain integration: Use a HIVE blockchain library (e.g., hive-js) to record transactions and user data on the blockchain.

Development Roadmap

  1. Set up the development environment and project structure.
  2. Design and implement the user interface for both Shoppers and Earners.
  3. Develop the back-end API and database schema.
  4. Integrate with Amazon APIs, LeoMerchants, and the HIVE blockchain.
  5. Implement Earner-Shopper matching algorithm and order fulfillment.
  6. Implement wishlist management, order tracking, and dispute resolution.
  7. Test and debug the application.
  8. Deploy the application to a production environment.

Above was the basic outline development plan, provided by DeepSeek-R1 as I guided it through the idea.

I tried doing something similar in the early days of Hivelist, but it didn't catch on. People were too busy trying to earn and dump the LIST token when it first came out to pump their own bags to care about real use case. But that's the market we are in unfortunately.

I am very well aware of the other services, and know that they don't get used very much. The gift card services are the way to go, so that is how I am going to go about it. The only problem is the upfront money I have to put in the account that is basically gone, I can't get a refund on it, so if the Hive community ignores this like they have everything else other than their own bags, then I will be out even more capitol on this project to try and give actual use cases. All these stupid meme shit everyone throws their money at like they are betting on red or black at a roulette table... But when real crypto utility comes around, it gets ignored because it's not some shiny new animal or body function coin.

So needless to say, I don't have much faith in the community, so that is why I am actually hesitant about investing to get started. Everyone here seems to be completely broke other than the whales, and they aren't supporting either... I tried.

Ah, thanks for your perspective. I guess the Gift Cards thing is the better idea...

Why did you need to put money up-front, though? Can't you make it an on-demand thing at first?

I have to load an account with a minimum of $100. I can reload as I go, but have to put that up front to cover the first sales kind of thing. They don't take it from a credit card or anything. So that's just money that I have to put up front and take the gamble that people will use the service. There will be gift cards for many countries and companies, as well as will be adding esims and data plans. So I am really hoping people use the service. Most gift cards, I don't make anything, so it's dollar for dollar. I can put a slight markup on the esims and data topups though. But yeah, it's taking a gamble, but it's something I have always wanted for the site anyway. So going to roll the dice eventually.

Oh, $100 is cheaper than I thought. But I totally understand the gamble aspect of it... To be fair, as long as the service works well, and you provide the cards I need. (Probably Steam Store USD cards if we're talking soon.) I think I'll use it for one.

Yeah, it's not bad really, but I have already put up a bunch over the years and haven't really made it back to be honest. Not to mention that most of my liquid funds recently went into purchasing miners, lol.

Were those a good investment?

How could solar powered money printers not be a good investment? They are literally making me money, lol.

He didn't know they were Solar Powered, can you tell me more?

Was asking about how Solar Miners are different or better than normal ones, but don't worry I looked them up myself after I asked. They're neat, but still too expensive for me!

Mine are just regular miners but ran on solar power vs the grid... Nothing complicated at all.

Yeah, nobody said mining was a cheap venture, lol. That's why I got the solar system on top of everything so that I don't have to pony up near as much to the power company. But I am making a better return percentage right now than I would on a rental house. And all I have to make sure is that the machines are running properly. That's it. And the best part about mining... I don't have to impress or entertain anyone and I don't have to campaign for witness or validator votes. I just turn on machines, contribute to the networks, and earn my rewards.

When my financial situation improves, I'll look into it again!

Oh for sure. I mean budget is why I am buying the miners I am, it's because I can afford them one at a time, lol. But, when you look at how much it costs to go an mine gold or to produce other commodities, crypto mining doesn't look so bad, lol.
