[VOD] Writing a Drabble: "Redundant UltraClock" -Timelapse

avatar
(Edited)

While writing my Drabble "Redundant Ultraclock." I streamed the writing part on Twitch. You'll be able to see my thought process and the non-linear way I write fiction, as well as all my stumbles and the points I stopped to look up words or check out other windows on my device.

The process took about less than an hour. This is a Timelapse at 3x the speed of the actual writing process. After finishing the stream, I added some finishing touches like the image at the top.

A drabble is a micro-story consisting of exactly 100 words, hence why I used a word counter for this.

Want more of this? Have any feedback? If you do, please let me know. Thanks for Reading.

This is interesting. I never thought of documenting my writing process. It would be long hours of comedy. I write in phases until I get it together in one piece. It takes days sometimes to write one piece of fiction. I'm trying to learn how to write at a stretch.

Same... This video only worked because it's a 100 words drabble, but I spend many hours over multiple days in my actual stories. (Unless I have an external reason to finish them quickly, like contests.)

You probably saw in the video how much I go back and edit, and how many times I write each sentence. I hope this makes some people feel better about their writing process if they're as messy as mine. !LOLZ

If people liked it, I might do a longer video of an actual longer story, even if it took me multiple days, I can edit them together.

I like it and I think it is interesting. Now I feel better about my writing process. I was starting to think that I'm a lazy writer. Hehe.

I never thought of recording my writing process. It hardly happens that I write one article at a stretch. It happens in different spots of time.
I also need to go back snd forth for vocabulary and translation. !LOLZ.

Good job!

Thanks for adding me as a beneficiary of this post

As I said in my reply to @kei2 ...This only worked because this is a 100 words story. If you watched the video you'll see me open new browser tabs to look for words too, if people liked this, I might record a longer story next time. (I can combine writing sessions in one timelapse video.)

Honestly speaking @ahmadmanga . Nobody would want to spend long time watching that slow a video adding little value worth their time.
I am sorry if I said any hurtful thing 🙏
Your stories are worth reading 🥰

Actually, it's nice knowing your view on this... One of the reasons I didn't do it in the first place is that I couldn't imagine what type of person would watch it.

But I also couldn't imagine what type of person would watch reaction videos before I became one of those watching them. !LOLZ

Lolz. 🤣

My sister-in-law watched those reaction videos a lot and I was like what things she is wasting her time on.

Individual differences at work....!

See?

Though it depends, I mostly treat the reaction videos as my second watch for something, and I only do it with things that I can analyse more with each watch.

Wow, thanks for the beneficiary mate😂😂😂
This is the first I'm hearing of someone documenting their writing process....
What spurred the thought?😂

It's one of many, many ideas I had for a long time but never had the courage to try... I probably got the idea from one of those Twitch.tv writing channels.

I also enjoy art timelapse video, why not writing? I guess.

I've always wondered how one does the art time lapse video....seems stressful to have to video yourself throughout your drawing process....
Space consuming too

Most modern digital drawing apps have screen-recording supported if not an actual features of the app.

And if you're talking about real artists who draw on Paper, there are cool Cameras for that. It's easier than you're imagining.
