My Cat's Not A Cat, He's A Sloth
This is Duncan, our cat.
He's still quite new to us, and came to us as a rescue by the RSPCA from a bad situation. We've only been letting him out for a week or two, and it turns out he didn't know about "Outdoors", he'd clearly never been allowed out or had his own space.
So he's having to learn how to be a cat. Mostly this involves zooming around the in the garden like a maniac, hiding under bushes to ambush anyone walking past, and generally having fun. It's good that he's active, he came to us very malnourished and need to build his back leg muscles up a lot.
But today, we've finally got some nice weather, and he is learning that other cat skill, of lazing around. He's found the warmest spot on the patio, and is just totally slothing out. When he shuts his eyes like that, it's a kind of pleasure-trance for him. He loves the sun !
When he's not lazing, he's been doing some mellow pottering, as this photo shows. He is definitely settling in to his new life well !
Awesome pictures, cat looks happy as larry there enjoying some sun! Wish my doggo would take some lazy lessons and spend more time lying down, save me shouting at him all the time to lie down!
Thank you ! Yeah, every animal is different. Cats kind of do their own thing, but it mostly seems to involve minimum effort from them and maximum effort from their human staff 😁
Not sure what to suggest about dogs, maybe give him some food so he can go into a digestion-stupor.....

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoWhat a gorgeous wee cat. I hope he is enjoying our mini heatwave!
Thank you ! He's mostly been loving it, but has struggled a bit with the heat. Having a garden of his own to explore is a fun new experience for him, we think the place the RSPCA rescued him from didn't allow him out. Luckily our garden is a bit overgrown and interesting for cats, so there are lots of places to hide and things to discover. 🙂
Yes I do now some cats that indoor only and declawed etc, so it is good that Duncan has an overgrown jungle to venture into lol
Yeah the heat, I am guessing he keeps hydrated!
