Saturday Savers 2024 Progress Report - Week 24

It's Saturday, one week from Midsummer's Day, as well as Leo Power Up Day and time for my weekly #SaturdaySavers update.

How Did The Week Go ?

This felt like a week where I started to make up lost ground. While I'm a little behind on my Hive Power target, the earnings have started to creep back up again, so if I can keep this up and add a decent amount of HP on HPUD then I should get back on target.

A small fanfare is in order this week as well: I finally tipped over the 2000 HBD threshold. This makes me happy !

However, the price of HIVE continues to fall, and I'm starting to get concerned about how low it'll go. We're a long way from HBD haircut territory (on current data, that appears to happen at around 7 cents). However I've decided that it's crazy to DCA into HBD with HIVE at the current price. What I'll do is pause my HBD purchasing plan, but with a view to catching up once the HIVE price rises to over 29 cents. That way, the total purchased by the end of the year remains the same.

LEO is at 97% of the goal already, and we're only halfway through the year. I think the issue is that I was too timid with the goal, not that I've been doing anything crazy to beat it ! I'm not going to change the goal, I'll just see how much I can get by the end of the year 😀 Today was LPUD, and I did my bit by powering up 150 LEO - my LPUD post is at https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@alonicus/its-midsummer-lpud-

I'm a little down on my post totals goal, but it's stabilised. If I can keep up the current momentum I should be on top of it in a week or three, but I'm determined to keep the quality up in the process.

I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.

So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
