Saturday Savers 2024 Progress Report - Week 29
Happy Saturday, everyone ! It's time for my #SaturdaySavers update π
This will be a slightly out-of-synch update because I was away last weekend and only did the post on Monday, so this is really a 5-day long period. Rather than worry about the gains in the (short) week, I'll focus on the year-to-date gains and how on target they are (or aren't...)

Here's my table of progress for the week;
How Did The Week Go ?
HIVE seems to be very, very slowly regaining lost ground, although I think it'll be a little while before it hits the Β£0.197 price where it makes sense for me to start DCA'ing into HBD again.
I'm just about keeping on top of my HP target, but this last couple of weeks have been heavily taken up with real life stuff, so my posting rate has gone down badly. Need to do something about that !
About 60% of my HP gain each week is going into boosting my delegations. I'm fine with that, it's a good use of Hive Power while the price is low, and once I get to 100% of target I'll probably stop increasing the delegations at least for a little while.
Other than LEO and EDS, I've pretty much lost interest in tribe tokens. They are mostly driven by single creators - the opposite of the centralisation we espouse - and mostly seem to go to zero as soon as the creator loses interest.
But LEO has enough of a user base that it looks like it'll be able to take on a life of it's own even if the price did take a kicking during the recent dip.
One thing tribe tokens are notable for is volatility, and I had to chuckle when I looked at Beeswap this morning and saw the EDSMM price....
It's fair to say that I recognise this isn't real, I think it's just a combination of automated buy/sell offers, and maybe someone putting in a typo ! But I know there is nowhere near enough liquidity for me be able un-stake, cash out and walk away with $4250 π€£
Overall, even though my Hive time has been limited for the last couple of weeks, I'm pleased with the way it's going.
Two things made me especially happy this week.
First, that I won a 10K LEO delegation as a prize for LPUD.
The second one was that I came first in the most recent Scholar and Scribe writing contest. We had to write a romance, which is a genre I've never, ever tried before, so it totally stretched me out of my normal comfort zone and I ended up creating something I was really pleased with. That it was recognised as worthwhile by people whose abilities are so much greater than my own really touched me.
So that was my week - it was a good one, I hope yours was as positive ! π
If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.
If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.
I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
I too won twice and got rewarded once. So that deelgation definitely helps in building the LEO in account.
Wow brother, great progress and congrats on the 10K LEO win and the writing contest too. Your dedication is inspiring me a lot man
Please I need a little advice
What is the best account we can delegate Hive to so we can earn
I'm not an expert by any means, but I think the first thing to do is identify what it is you want to earn. For me, it's HIVE and LEO. In both cases, the methods used appear to involve far more complexity than they really ought to !
To earn LEO, I delegate HP to @leo.voter and also delegate LP (Leo Power - staked LEO) to @meowcurator within Leo Finance (or InLeo, or whatever it's called nowadays).
The staked LP is about half of what I hold, making sure I've also got over 750 staked but not delegated in order to earn rewards from Leo Ads. A setting to update is also in your Leo dashboard to set rewards to staked not liquid, which gets you an extra 3%. Eventually, the goal is to have enough LEO staked that I can un-delegate it - the idea is that I'll be able to do that at the point where LEO earned from curation is more than the LEO I can earn from staking & delegation.
To earn HIVE, most of the ways to delegate it deliver a relatively slow drip. So I delegate to @eds-vote. Again, it's slightly convoluted, but eds-vote pays out in EDS, with EDS in turn delivering HIVE each week. It's not lots at the level I'm at, but it builds up over time. Holding and staking EDS miners (EDSM and EDSMM) can also generate EDS, but people are seeing the value in them so it's unlikely you'll be able to pick them up at the nominal 1 HIVE they started at.
Hopefully that helps a little ! I'd suggest that they should be secondary to HP you use for curation, if you're able to do a bit of curation every day (or use a curation trail to automate the process).
Sorry if I've written an essay - these things always sound so much more complicated when I try to put them into words !
Very cool thumbnail pic! ππ»
Thank you ! Sometimes I like to just put really brief prompts into the AI art generator I use, pick the wackiest styles, and just see what surreal weirdness I get back π
Well that one is excellent result. Which AI App did you use?
I used NightCafe Studio. It can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, but most of the results it gives are really great
