Saturday Savers 2024 Progress Report - Week 32

It's late, but it's here ! My #SaturdaySavers update that I should have done yesterday. I've got an excuse; this weekend is the one closest to my birthday, and my wife decided to make it the best one ever, so we went to London, had lunch at an amazing cake shop then went to see a show - our first time going to the theatre in Central London - and then went for a meal at a Philippine restaurant.

It was an amazing day, but we got home quite late and I was far too exhausted to write a post !

Here's my table of progress for the week;

How Did The Week Go ?

It felt like a week where I didn't put enough effort into Hive. It's a combination of summer being the time of year when I've got the most going on, and being quite bogged-down in a project to totally re-engineer my business.

Despite that, I kept up with curation and my posting rate was only down slightly, and I had one post the previous week that for whatever reason (and it always seems completely random !) got picked up on curation trails and did really, really well. My posting rate is at 59% of target, while it should be at 62% at this point of the year, so down slightly, but I'm not just going to make rubbish posts to keep up a self-created goal !

So somehow I earned 50.508 HP, which I think is my single highest earning week since I've been here. I appreciate it's a total fluke, so I won't expect it every week, but it's incredibly motivating. It also meant that I earned 5.957 HBD.

Both HP and HBD are a little under target, but they're keeping up rather than slipping back, so I'm not too worried. I put 20 of the HP into delegations, so they are both a comfortable amount over target.

It's LPUD this week. I've very nearly got enough liquid LEO to cover it, and should have enough by Thursday. My LEO savings are doing well and I'm over my goal for the year, but the slow and steady drop in the price of LEO over the last few months makes me inclined to try earning more rather than chucking more fiat at it !

So overall I'm happy with the way the week has gone. I look forward to seeing what next week brings !

If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.

If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.

I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.

So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !

A total re-engineering of your business feels like a huge undertaking. But your livelihood comes first. Take care.

Thank you ! It definitely is a big project. But I sat down and designed a plan first, so it's a case of working through all the steps, monitoring results, and watching for all those things I should have planned for but didn't (there are always a few surprises with any project of this scope.....)
