I'm aiming to post one of these each Sunday. They aren't a replacement for the excellent daily prompts from @worldbuilding they're just an extra opportunity if you have a writing itch you want to scratch. 😀

The prompt this week is - Prophecy

Prophecies can be powerful things - tell me about one from your setting ! What was it ? Who made it ? How long ago ? How was it transmitted ? Has it come true ? What happens when it does ? What happens if it doesn't come true ?

What about self fulfilling prophecies?
Long time ago, when I was learning magic, I did a complex technique to see the girl that I will love the rest of my life, the soulmate. I seen her clearly, a blonde little girl, in a foreign country, smiling back at me. Time passed by, and I moved from my native country to UK, and I forgot about it, until yesterday, when at my daughter's 8th birthday, she was ready to go to her party, and, in front of the house, she turned back and smiled. That was exactly what I've seen in my vision, 30 years ago. Fate or freewill debate? I do not know yet.

Now, from my wife perspective. Seen one of the druid priestesses as a teenager, was told that she will find the man that will love more than anyone on Christmas 2021. Funny enough, we married in 2016. And she still didn't know what to do with her own prophecy. The druidess was never wrong. And then, that day come. She was mostly at home.And as she was feeling a bit sick, she went to see our doctor. After the check, was told to do a pregnancy test. Our boy was born 8 months later.

I was feeling generous, so I put two for one stories. Version of a similar prophecy. Enjoy!
