Worldbuilding Weekend Prompt #70 - Buried Treasure
Welcome to the next in an ongoing series of writing prompts in the Worldbuilding community !
I'm aiming to post one of these each Sunday. They aren't a replacement for the excellent daily prompts from @worldbuilding they're just an extra opportunity if you have a writing itch you want to scratch. 😀

The prompt this week is - Buried Treasure
Finding buried treasure (or burying it in the first place) is a trope of so much fiction, as well as a staple of archaeology and looting. It can be hoards of Roman coins hidden from invaders and never retrieved, a chest of pirate gold hidden under the sands of a desert island, jewellery in a long-abandoned tomb, or looted spoils of war hurriedly thrown in a pit as the enemy closes in.
Tell me a story of buried treasure from your world ! Who buried it, where and why ? What legends surround it ? Who is searching for it ? What clues are the following ? What hides or guards the treasure ? What do the searchers find, and was it worth the hardship and risk ?
Just to add a bit of spice to things, the two entries I most like (and are linked in comments to this post, so I can find them !) that are posted by midnight (GMT) next Saturday will each get a prize of one Hive SBI.
This link will take you to the FAQ where you can read more about Hive SBI - it's a project I thoroughly support because it gives both the donor and winner a steady trickle of passive income paid out in the form of upvotes on posts.

It can be a lot of fun to mix and match our prompts with some of these other community prompts.
I always like how buried treasure can be such a versatile theme in storytelling. My favorite part is exploring the motivations behind who buried it and the legends that keep the mystery alive. Another nice work bro
Thank you ! You should definitely try some creative writing posts, your writing is good, so it'd be great to see what you can create 😁
