“Congratulations, Sir William. I am pleased to confirm your appointment to the Lyon Court of Arms, as Lord Lyon.”

Sir William spluttered.

“But…. Minister…… You’ve just made me head of the most utterly pointless government agency in the whole United Kingdom. Whatever did I do wrong to deserve that ?”

Someone has to run the agency. Perhaps Sir Williams can point it in the right direction...or at least try. Nice approach to the prompt.

Thanks for your reply ! Yep, Sir William would have a nice comfy time running the agency. But let's face it, how often do heraldic disputes arise in 21st Century Scotland, and is having a whole agency dedicated to them a good use of taxpayer's money ? 😜

If not that one, then which other one. Same difference. Perhaps by pointing the agency in the right direction, I was thinking that maybe illumination would occur and turn toward more deserving use of the funds.

lmao ! Yeah, good point 😁 Even worse, after Brexit he'd just be there as an observer now, so no chance of collecting brown envelopes in exchange for favours.....
