Watch your thumbs! it can bite back
A few days ago, a strange post surfaced on Twitter and became viral in a very short period, and the reason was that someone could not watch his thumbs while pressing the keypad button on his phone, which bites back into his life so fiercely.
And the topic was a birthday cake. It is funny right, that how you present things on social media can really make your life miserable, although you can be anonymous, or show very little of your identity, there are people out there who can spill your tea or able to dig into your digital footprint, so always be careful, and watch your thumb while tapping on the keyboard.
The account seems to be doing a good deed in the initial post on X saying how he feel bad for an Office Boy, as the Office Boy was trying to share his birthday cake with the others in the office early in the morning. But up until late in the afternoon, the account stated that all of his officemate has never touched the cake, and it was left there in the pantry. Which is kind of like a good tweet from a decent person who cares for the other despite their working status. The problem was that he threw all his officemates under the bus in the post.
Maybe because of that, the tweet went viral, initially showing support for him, up until someone called him out for making different views of the cake on different social media, on X he showed compassion, but on Instagram, he mocked the cake! See how quickly things can escalate if your post goes viral?
The next issue came when the daughter of the real owner of the cake went viral. He stole the photo of someone's cake, and made a fake post degrading the Office Boy, throwing his officemates under the bus. Then the icing on this messy cake was when one of his officemates fight back and spilled his tea, about his sexual orientation. He is the boyfriend of their boss, which apparently a male, a forbidden relationship according to the law that we have here in the country. also, the officemates called out how he was actually kind of a narcissistic, problematic kind of guy. Now he was exposed, and also putting his boss into the spotlight for the relationship that he has. If only he knew how to control his thumbs by not making such a stupid post, then life would be much easier for everyone. But maybe the clout of social media is much more tempting than then peaceful life.
