This post is partially for the ongoing crew3 leaderboard. Check it out, as some of the quests can give you 1k or 5k WOO as well. The team is currently just playing with the features, but more to come in April.

Never the less, I will share a few important info in this post.

As a lot of things in WOO, cities will have a lot of strategic aspects to get the most out of them. They will have currently 3 main functions:

  • Cheaper travel between territories
  • Almost passive income
  • Earn freelance wrestlers

Travel

As we are in the era of territorial wrestling, and we manage a Wrestling Organization it will be our responsibility to bring the gang to the right place and do a few fights there. When going to a new city it always costs a buck or two to pay for accommodation and food, unless we have the facilities already set up and own them. So if you go to a city you own it will be cheaper, be it within a territory or between territories. Traveling between the cities within a territory will be cheaper after that, so it is a great bonus to have a city in each territory.

Passive Income

The main value of cities will be in passive income coming from the "Gate fees" (basically ticket prices for the show and everything around it). WOO will be distributed between territories at the beginning of each season and you can earn a cut as an organization in playing in one of the 10.000 city in those territories. Now the owner of the city will have an incentive in developing their territory as they will get a cut after each won fight.

The fact, that there will be cities with different star ratings:

  • Population = amount of people in the city
  • Wealth = how deep their pocket is
  • Fans = hardcore wrestling fans

There are a total of 27 star combinations. This will impact the most effective building upgrade routes for the different combination of stars as well. And even in this case, sometimes personal preferences will prevail.

We often see in the discord the question if it is worth to have a plot with a few stars in total. Wouldn't the players just visit the max star plots? And the answer is - there will be incentives for players, mainly with organizations which don't have a lot of upgrades (new players) to visit low star cities. The rewards for them in high star cities could be penalized as they don't fill the arenas.
There are clear indications that there will be an additional building in, which tokens of other projects can be staked, making it possible for players to earn even those tokens in case of a win (like SPS or Pizza). This can be done on 9 star plots as well, but the incentive for that is lower.

But I wrote almost passive, as there are also rumors, that maintenance might be needed on the plots...

Freelance Wrestlers

There is an info on the AMAs we talk about quite a lot, and that is Freelance wrestlers.

When I did the calculations on the utility of the land plots (reference for values here) it was clear that Population and Wealth highly impact on the earned rewards and Fans were giving just a small % to the winnings.
But then the bombshell info dropped. On lands plots with a lot of Fans there is a higher chance for freelance wrestlers to drop for players on those plots. Makes sense, doesn't it. The place where wrestlers are appreciated the most is the place with the most fans. And these are the places where new titans can rise from the Parts Unknown!
So this is already a great incentive for others to play on plots with a lot of Fan stars. But the WOO team has always another card in their sleeve: We got to know in the last AMAs, that there is a new building type called Training Center. If you build this in your city, then even the plot owner has a chance to get a card. Basically for FREE! Passive Card Income!

I love it!
