Now the Ledger wallet, with the permission of the client, encrypts and sends your phrase to a third-party service for possible recovery (available for EU, UK, US residents)

Software version 2.2.1 brings the Ledger Recover feature.

With the new update, it will be possible to restore access to the device using a passport.

This means that the Leger chip has a software option to export the private key.

The most seasoned scam project in the crypto world has long lost credibility and trust, but this seems to be the last nail in its coffin. Recovering your funds using your passport is of course a good option, but not for cryptocurrency.
