This week saw the Ending of the previous and Start of the new Season. This has led to a slight increase in activities for me, which is all ok as that also means I get to open a whole pile of EOS reward chests 😁. As for whether Lady Luck is with me... lets find out later on.

In the Splinterlands side of things, we've had the reveal of the first airdrop card for Riftwatchers, as well as some really interesting movements in the price of one of Splinterlands main tokens, DEC. 🤑

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 50th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 37th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

Well, as I've mentioned, this week saw the end of another season. Both my Main and Alt accounts finished in the Gold League so as to achieve gold level chests for the next season again. As always, I find it more economical to play almost the entire season in Silver 1, except perhaps for the last 1-2 days where I might venture into Gold 3.

Rewards wise, it was overall pretty average. My main and alt accounts managed to win 65 and 55 gold chests respectively. There was nothing much to shout about with my alt account winnings, but the main account did manage to pull in a decent amount of SPS and 2 Chaos Legion packs at least. That led to an overall slightly above average rewards total in my opinion. 😊

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

My accumulation of the Splinterlands Nightmare packs AKA Tower Defense continues. I have 185 packs generating an estimated 19+ SPS per day 🤑. The total hasn't changed since last week which isn't a big problem. I only place bids at bargain prices so as to ensure it's definitely a pure profit for me.

(I really should make a table showing my costs of each pack which I ONLY buy at a significant discount on HIVE ENGINE 😜, but that will a story for another day)

Take a look at the chart below. 😱📈

Take special note of the price movement in the past 2 weeks! DEC has gone on an amazing rise of 30% since then! It's now at $0.00091, which is ALMOST at the "peg value" of 1000 DEC:$1 🤑.

To be honest, this caught me completely by surprise. DEC had gone on a small spike after the proposal regarding being able to purchase Riftwatchers and nodes in DEC had been proposed. However, those 2 look almost certain to fail and I had expected DEC to fall back down in value again after that.

However, it seems that the team's determination to give DEC a lot more value in upcoming schemes has boosted confidence in the DEC token. It's been going up without looking back since. I still can't quite fathom if that's sound but the market does what it does. I doubt I'll FOMO into acquiring any DEC at this point onwards. I'd rather just let things run their course.

Next up, we've gotten a preview of the next airdrop for Riftwatchers. Kain Hace is a legendary Death splinter magic unit. He looks like an extremely hard hitting glass cannon. I'm sure he'll see quite a lot of play as a high risk and reward unit.

Since I didn't purchase any RW packs, I'll probably just rent him to try him out. Either that or I'll buy one in the market if I can manage to find a good bargain 😜.
