A very Happy Lunar/Chinese New Year to all my readers who observe this event. I hope this year of the Rabbit zodiac brings you great prosperity! 🍊🍍🧧 It seems like the markets are still going strong and BTC finally breached 23k again today. Is this the end of the Bear as we know it? 😱📈🎉

Time will tell if this is just another false dawn or the start of the next bull again I guess. But in the meantime, I'll just enjoy playing my Splinterlands daily as it is. 😜

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, we've got some big news with the announcement of the NEXT round of reward cards! ALL 43 of them! 😱 This is a major change to the landscape of Splinterlands and will mark a new phase on the 31st of Jaunuary.

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 61st consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks another weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

It's been a really busy week for me, both in real life and in Splinterlands. We had another End of Season just take place, and along with it, all the last minute grinding that one can expect from this. Of course, there is also the Lunar New Year which comes with it's own set of preparations too!

Would the God of Fortune (everyone's favourite Deity during this festive period) smile upon me for the End of Season reward chests then? 🍀

Both my main and alt accounts finished in the Gold League yet again. My chest results were pretty average overall. But I'll take average over dismal after my pretty terrible last few seasons of rewards. Perhaps the winds of change are coming for me! 😁

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁

Some details about the new round of Reward cards have finally been officially announced! The landscape of Splinterlands will never be the same again! 😱

• Soulbound Reward cards will not be transferrable, rented/delegated, burned, or sold until the cards go out of print.

• release date of 31st January 2023.

• Legendary and Alchemy potions to increase their chances of getting better rarity and gold foil reward cards when opening loot chests will be re-enabled.

• a single loot chest may now contain multiple of the same reward card.

• cards will become unbound once they stop being available in loot chests, by paying DEC.

• 43 cards in total:

  • 37 Monster cards
  • 6 Summoner cards (one from each element except Neutral)
  • 12 Legendary cards (two from each basic element, one Dragon, and one Neutral)
  • 7 Epic cards (one from each element)
  • 12 Rare cards (two from each basic element, one Dragon, and one Neutral)
  • 12 Common cards (two from each basic element and two Neutral)

• 3 NEW abilities!

Well, there really is TOO MUCH for me to go into detail so these are just the summarized points as I noted them. Do feel free to check out the details in the Official Announcement Post

I'm actually quite pleased with all these changes. Summoners being available in rewards will enable the casual or new player to build up a team of summoners in order to hit the higher leagues. As we all know, Summoners cost significantly more than other cards. This will really help everyone to move up the leagues.

Additionally, cards being soulbound (for an estimated 1-2 years until they run out at current print rates) means that they won't flood the market and value is retained in the system. That being said, WHEN they eventually go out of print, one can pay DEC to sell/rent/transfer them just like any normal card now. This in effect also gives more value to DEC and is another incentive to keep these cards instead of dumping them.

All in all, I feel that this will significantly improve the new player and small fish player experiences AND also keep the money from leaving Splinterlands NO THANKS to bot farms whose only purpose is to extract value. 📈💸

Weekly Chaos Legion Sales Tracker

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 208k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄

(Well, actually, the burning of CL packs has also started and this will add into the figures. So that means CL packs are soon going to be in really short quantity. Best to get it while you still can!)

Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 257k away from the 13 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
