Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

A very Happy Lunar/Chinese New Year to all my readers who celebrate this festival! 🍊🍍🧧 There's still about a week of the holiday to go, although I'd assume almost everyone is back at work again. The markets are are holding up pretty well with BTC hovering at around 23k for the past week. Even HIVE has gone up and is holding steady at around the $0.40 mark. Could this really spell the end of the Bear as we know it? 😱📈🎉

It is hard to time the market though and I will, on my part, just continue to DCA and accumulate slowly accordingly to my plan.

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, we've got some major changes coming REALLY SOON. In just 2 days time, the entire concept of reward cards as we've known it will be changed forever! Are you ready for that momentous change yet? If that isn't enough news, the next Chaos Legion legendary airdrop summoner has also been revealed.

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 62nd consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks another weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

Gamewise, it has been pretty smooth sailing in Splinterlands. I've not been able to play as much as I would like because of the Chinese New Year though. I did manage to grind out some daily focus chests everyday so it's not a complete standstill.

Unfortunately, the rewards have been pretty MEH for me. I don't mind those common cards I've been getting though. I think everyone can expect a spike in prices pretty soon once they've all been phased out.

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑

🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁

In just 2 days, on the 31st January 2023, once this season concludes, ALL EXISTING REWARD CARDS WILL BE COMPLETELY PHASED OUT! 😱

The new cards will be SOULBOUND and therefore will not be transferrable, rented/delegated, burned, or sold until the cards go out of print (which is estimated to take 1-2 years).

Just a quick recap from my post last week, there will be 43 cards in total:

37 Monster cards
6 Summoner cards (one from each element except Neutral)
12 Legendary cards (two from each basic element, one Dragon, and one Neutral)
7 Epic cards (one from each element)
12 Rare cards (two from each basic element, one Dragon, and one Neutral)
12 Common cards (two from each basic element and two Neutral)

I've already said my thoughts last week and I do think it's overall a step in the right direction for Splinterlands especially when it comes to retaining value in the system and countering bot farms somewhat.

The NEXT Chaos Legion legendary airdrop summoner has also been revealed. This time we've got the Death splinter at the forefront of attention. The Astral Entity looks to be yet another defensive card as befits the theme of Death summoners. It does seem to be pretty strong too! -2 Armour, Dodge and Resurrect all combine together to make a really potent Summoner to lead your Death armies on the battlefield. ⚔️🛡️

I'm going to keep my fingers cross for that miniscule chance of an airdrop with my 11 packs purchased. 🤣🍀

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 194k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄

(Well, actually, the burning of CL packs has also started and this will add into the figures. So that means CL packs are soon going to be in really short quantity. Best to get it while you still can!)

Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 62k away from the 13 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
