Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

It has been a rather good week for the overall crypto market. BTC went past $31k at one point but is now holding steady above $30k. ETH itself surged past $2.1k after it's successful Shanghai upgrade too. HIVE itself has benefited from the strength of the main coins and moved steadily upwards to 44 cents itself too! 😜🚀📈 I would have expected SPS and DEC to also show similar trends, but unfortunately, in the last 24 hours, there has been some major price action which caused the prices of both of these Splinterlands tokens to slump. 😭📉

Regardless of what happens with the prices, my gameplay in Splinterlands is unaffected. I guess most people who enjoy the game for what it is probably might not even be aware of what happens out there. There's nothing wrong with that of course. A game's primary purpose is to provide fun and enjoyment after all. We even have the the End of Season rewards to excite us this past week.

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, this past week has been completely quiet. I think, after all the excitement of the long awaited :and 1.0 release, everyone is just settling down and catching their breath! 😜

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 73rd consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks another weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊

Like I mentioned, this week saw yet another End of Season phase. This time round, I remembered to advance both my accounts into the Gold League. My memories of last season's screwup in forgetting to click on the "ADVANCE" button for my alt account still haunts me.

On the bright side, I did get A LOT MORE chests in the silver league for my alt. The rewards ended up being quite decent too, with a legendary and a gold foil common, together with some SPS. All's well that ends well. 🎉

My main account also did pretty well rewards wise. Although there were no legendaries or gold foils, I did manage to snag 2 Chaos Legion packs. Those are always a very welcome prize.

My overall satisfaction with this End of Season rewards are solidly positive. 🎁👍

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

Just a little over 24 hours ago (as of the time I am writing this post), SPS suddenly saw a MASSIVE price slump. I actually thought it was a visual bug at that moment too! But after checking out the different CEX/DEX, I realised it was really true!

What happened that would have caused such a price drop? I immediately went to the various Splinterlands related discords to see if anyone had any information, and finally found my answer.

It seemed like some huge wallet had dumped 6.2 MILLION SPS at one go causing the price to take a massive hit. The great internet sleuths had managed to track down the particular address and I myself went to BSC Scan to verify it for myself. Indeed, as you can see here in my screenshot below, this unknown person made 4 trades in the space of 3 minutes dumping all his/her SPS holdings.

I don't think anyone will really know why that wallet decided to dump it all at once. This adds up to about $USD 170-200k in liquidity. It's quite interesting that this amount is all that is needed to cause such a big shift in prices.

I am seriously considering making some purchases of SPS at these current prices, especially with the upcoming changes from Collection Power to Staked SPS for league requirements. The price has already recovered slightly and it is very possible that this "discount" will not last too long.
