The crypto markets look pretty much unchanged to me this past week. Looks like all those debt ceiling talks and eventual deal hasn't moved the needle much in any meaningful way. Perhaps it could the the better than expected jobs report and the expectation of more rate hikes to continue? Who knows. 😅

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, the huge Splinterlands 5th Anniversary campaign has officially kicked off. There are literally THOUSANDS of prizes on offer and the most spectacular? A top prize of an amazing TRACT of land too! An amazing amount of DEC/DEC-B has also been burnt, resulting in an upward trend of the price of DEC. 😱

But before I go into detail...

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 80th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

The last few weeks have been a rather hectic period for me as I was away travelling. That made getting in my regular daily games slightly harder and I don't know if that has contributed directly to having achieved less chests than usual. It could be entirely down to what seems a higher difficulty level ever since the past few seasons ago though.

Regardless, the past week saw another End of Season which resulted in my LOWEST chests tally to date. 😱 I would say it was above average since I got a legendary, some gold foils and a Chaos Legion pack - all on my main. I'll take it as a win overall. 👍

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑

There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.

My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.

Both my main and alt accounts performed exceedingly well with a perfect score for both their brawls! 4-0 and 5-0 respectively. 🎉 I guess I can't really critique anything in a situation like this. 😁

PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 2nd place! 🏆🏆🏆

Everyone did really well and more importantly, we had more participants joining in this time round. It really does show that numbers matter. If we are able to keep to this consistently, we will definitely be able to finish on the podium easily every week.

The Splinterlands 5th Anniversary "Burning" event has kicked off in full swing this week and a spectacular amount of DEC has already been burnt so far. With the top 2 spots being closely contest at almost 60+m DEC each, it will be interesting to see who pips the other to the top spot.

This bodes well in reducing the amount of DEC floating around in the ecosystem and should help in bringing the price of DEC closer to the peg that the SPL team wants. That said, there is still a significant amount of DEC out there and I don't think just this one single event will be enough to do the trick.

One of the direct benefits of burning DEC during this even is that ever DEC burnt will be converted to Guild Power. DEC donations to guild buildings will soon cease and be replaced with GP instead. The biggest difference will be that players who leave will be able to take 90% of their GP with them. This means it is more crucial than ever that guilds hold onto their biggest players. The ramifications are as yet unknown and I foresee that talented players with huge amounts of GP will be headhunted in the days ahead.
