Week 81 of my SplinterDiary📝📚, Pizza 2🍕 Brawl Report⚔️🛡️ & SplinterNews 📰 — "Age of the Phoenix upcoming changes"

Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

Had I written this post just half a day earlier, I would have said that the crypto markets were mostly unchanged this week, even after the initial drop due to the SEC going after both Binance and Coinbase. However, in just these few hours, it does seem that the entire market has crashed pretty badly for altcoins especially, with most of them dropping by 20% or more. Even HIVE itself has has not been spared, being down by about 15% to at just over 28¢ at the moment. Needless to say, SPS itself is down too. 📉💸

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, the huge Splinterlands 5th Anniversary campaign is into it's second week now and the burning of DEC/DEC-B has slowed down as expected. Update wise, there isn't much to speak of this week, but the roadmap for the next "Age of the Phoenix" has been updated.

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 81st consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

I'd say this week has been quite mundane for me personally when it comes to playing my Splinterlands accounts. Being right in the middle of the season means it's just daily grinding for the points and chest rewards. Unfortunately, I have not been lucky on that rewards front too. I don't quite recall having gotten any gold foils or legendaries or packs. Perhaps the End of Season Rewards by this time next week will bring about a change of fortunes? (I hope)

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑

There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.

My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.

Both my main and alt accounts didn't live up to their exploits for the past few weeks. Looks like it's the end of those "perfect runs" for me. 🤣 However, I think they still did posted quite respectable score lines and I'm satisfied with what was achieved overall.

PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 1st place! 🏆🏆🏆

WOW! We've not had a first place finish in quite some time now and I was pleasantly surprised by the final position we finished in. Slightly more people than normal participated in the guild brawls and I think that is what made a difference. I do think that we've got a strong group of players and the only thing we lack are consistent participants. Should we manage to get most of those frays filled, we will always stand a good chance of finishing in a podium position.

Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

There're 19 more days to go for the Splinterlands 5th Anniversary burning event and almost 504 million DEC/DEC-B has been burnt as of today. The burns have slowed down considerably ever since day 1 but we're still seeing a lower but consistent amount of DEC being burnt every minute. It's hard to say how much will end up being burnt eventually as there might still be some late surprises in the weeks ahead. I will definitely be keeping an eye out on this figures till then.

The "Age of the Phoenix", as this period from end May to early August has been codenamed, is in full swing now. The roadmap has been updated to remind everyone what the dev teams plans are for these few months. Of particular interest to me would be:

• replacing CP with SPS staking
• the release of the Soulkeep TD
• Banning of Bots in Modern

These would have huge implications on the ecosystem overall and I don't quite know what to expect. Would it spur an increase in the pricing of SPS? Or would it drive more people away? I sincerely hope it turns out to be the best case scenario.
