Hello to any of my readers and "Dear (weekly) Diary" 😜

This past week has seen BTC more or less consolidating at the 30k level. It does seem like there has been profit taking every time prices push beyond a certain level but at a certain point, it becomes a good discount for buyers once again. 🤣 Well, I think we won't see any major swings either way until we get some signals from the upcoming Fed meeting next week.

On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, there hasn't been any major announcements that have really caught my eye. Something to take note of though is the change in what we once knew about the "daily quest reset" timing. It's not quite what I would call significant, but it is still something that'll impact our daily gaming habits. 😜

A brief introduction before I start though...

Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳

This is now the 87th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊

No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

Ever since the changes to Collection Power being replace by Staked SPS came in, my accounts have both seen a severe diminishing of rewards and points. There isn't much I can do about this unless I actually invest on getting more SPS. I could also rent the SPS of course, but I decided to take this season as a data collection exercise before I take some concrete steps from the next season onwards. Till then, I will most likely not gain much at all for the rest of the season.

I have also started to attempt to level up (from ZERO) my accounts in the Modern league for a few games a day. Having gotten news that the ban on bots in Modern will come into effect next week, it might become much better for me to play in that format. So, I'm just hedging my bets and getting prepared. 😁

My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.

There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.

My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.

Both accounts were on a perfect roll this week! My main achieved a 4-0 score while my alt did even better with a 6-0 score. I attribute it mostly to luck though as I got some really favourable matchups or even outright walkover matches.

PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 1st place! 🏆🏆🏆

This was an amazing feat! I've not seen P2 hit first place for the longest time already. With the help of regular attendees completing all their matches and some alts joining in to boost our numbers, we've finally managed to do something that looked like a distant memory in recent months. This is down to everyone who contributed in their own way.

Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

• The daily focus reset has been changed to be at midnight UTC.

This isn't particularly game breaking but I think it'll definitely affect everyone is a small way just due to everyone having been used to the old method since the game was launched years ago! 🤣

Some points to take note of.

• Resetting a focus no longer resets the timer.

• The focus timer is now a fixed period

• However long you wait to claim the previous day's rewards will not prevent the countdown for the next day from starting to count down again.

It seems that the idea behind this change is to remove the precise clockwork efficiency of bots compared to humans. I think this is an amazing change as we no longer have to "camp" the reset timing every single day to take advantage of as little downtime as possible. This eliminates an advantage bots have over us human players and will serve as a QOL upgrade too. We no longer have to claim rewards right on the dot and feel like we lost out if we're too busy or are simply unable to do so. 🎉
