Friday Market Musings | Week 33 | 2023

Week 33.png

What now?

Does the crypto market have anything positive to look forward to in the current circumstances? That's what I'm slowly starting to wonder about. Ouch, that hurts to write it down. But it's the truth. I sound far from positive, and I wish it were otherwise, but the reality is that I don't expect many positive developments for cryptocurrency under the current financial circumstances. The current cases are such that it is just hard enough for everyone to make ends meet, and that automatically means that more capital will be drawn from crypto than money will be added to crypto. The pressure from the interest rate hikes is immense, and there seems to be no end to it for the time being.

The news is not exactly positive either. Just to quote the first header I come across, The Great Bitcoin Reversal? Prominent Bull Throws In The Towel As $28,000 Barrier Falls, and how about this one? Bitcoin Crashes Below $25k As SpaceX Sells All BTC Holdings, Now Bitcoin's Crash and the SpaceX news seem to be something else. How exactly does this journalist think he knows Did Bitcoin Price Crash to $25K Because of Fake SpaceX News?. Anyway, my gut tells me something is wrong somewhere. But who am I?

Header-hunting

Let's get back to header-hunting, let's see if I can find some more juicy links for you that show what the state of the market is right now. Crypto and Bitcoin Markets Make Biggest Move in Months, but of the 'biggest move in months' we don't get merry this time. Unless you still have liquids on hand. Then this downward trend might be something that makes you happy. That is, if you can remain confident that after this bear market, there will be another bull market, with new all-time highs. And if you can continue to live normally until then. When you can miss the money to invest, yeah, then this latest crash might make you happy.

Recession

Because let's be honest, normal life is also becoming increasingly difficult. In the Netherlands, we are now officially in a recession. But according to our highly educated economists, we needn't worry too much just yet. No, with sky-high inflation and absurdly high costs, we certainly don't have to worry if we can't make ends meet. The economy has entered a recession as citizens spend less. Well, how could that be? I also heard that many Americans now take out loans to pay for their groceries, but can no longer pay back those loans. So the economy is not doing well on that side either. The FED and DNB continue to raise interest rates to cool inflation. Whether it also has the desired effect is not entirely clear to me. When I look at my wallet I say, "Um no, obviously not".

I'm trying to cheer you up!

Well, now let's look for a bit of news to cheer us up a bit because I don't want to send you into the weekend with a bad feeling either. That wouldn't be very nice of me. Well, what can I think of? Oh wait... now that Hive has dropped back to under 30 cents it's an absolute must to keep blogging! More Hive rewards, so you can build your Hivepower faster and have the chance to make a nice jump once the bull market comes around again. The question is when that will be ... but hey, it's a great opportunity, and an excellent prospect right? Do we have more to cheer about?

Good news outside of crypto

I take a leap outside the crypto markets to find news that makes you happy and then I come across an article that about 8 habits that help you live longer. Then the first thing that goes through my mind is whether you that you still want nowadays? I suppress that thought immediately because we are now looking for news to make us happy.

In Spain, they have found something new to fight wildfires. Horses should help fight wildfires. I hope it helps, but also that the animals will have a good life and not like here in the Netherlands where the Konik horses were starving at the Oostvaardersplassen.

It's about time for me to close this blog. If you have any good news to cheer me up, I invite you to share it here in the comments!

But for now, I'm going to focus on something completely different from the fa(i)lling crypto market, time to go to the painting that's waiting for me, focus my mind on painting, and keep the dogs busy.

Wishing everyone a very nice weekend and I'll see you again on Sunday with a BRO Newspaper!

(Edited)

From an observational point of view it is quite exciting to watch.

I noticed the rumblings in the market as Hive & SPS started to feel some quaking.

Then BAAAAM! It all slid like chess pieces from a rage quit.

We are back into BEAR territory with the Market Cap hitting with a thud!

$US 1 Trillion Market Cap is Bear Territory.

The market went up to 1.3, but it cannot burst higher.

During the Bull Market in the Glory days the Market Cap was $US 3 Trillion.

It isn't really more than a sneeze away.

Like you stated - the macro economic factors loom large.
European Countries are recessioning, while, the policies of Gubberments have no real solutions. They printed too much, for too long, on borrowings that you wouldn't give to a rampant gambler.

Alot of us are in the Crypto world for just these kinds of reasons.
& the Wild West of Crypto feels the pinch first - because it is the most RAW - no Lube.

SO, clench your butt cheeks, things are about to go FULL TILT!

Looks like a good time to Buy...

granted we would all like a crypto bull run, for various reasons. When it hits, there should be an influx of new interest in crypto and Hive specifically. Just like the stock market, ya have to hold tight through the bad times until things get better.

absolutely true, but holding tight is exactly the thing that becomes harder with each day that goes by. Not because I don't want to, but because I need to live to see the next bull ...
