2021 1oz Palau Silver Scarab - King Tut

I enjoy Egyptian designs, especially scarabs. When I saw this "coin," I knew I had to have it! Plus, you can't go wrong when they embed a crystal in it, right? 😁

Obverse(Source)

I didn't want to handle the coin, so I opted for a stock pick. Oddly enough, this is considered the "obverse." It depicts a winged scarab above, with the Eye of Ra to the left, and the ubiquitous ankh, which represents eternal life, to the right. Below this all is the Palau coat of arms.

Reverse

Naturally, the stock pictures online show a rainbow effect from the light reflecting off of the crystal. I was surprised I was able to reproduce the effect in a photo. The two sets of heiroglyphics are names for Tutankhamun.

The cost of these isn't cheap. I paid $201.42 for it a few years ago. If you do some searching, you can sometimes find it for $180. Don't look at the prices to get one that's MS70. This is one of those pieces I will likely never sell unless it suddenly goes up 10x in price.
