Back to Bullion Basics

I've been known to encourage other stackers to not only stack for weight, but to also stack what they like. The idea is to mix things up so that stacking doesn't become boring. In an ironic twist, I find myself needing to mix up my stacking.

The irony is that I've been focusing a lot on "what I like" and less on weight. Those of you who've been following my posts have seen quite a few unique pieces. While they're fun to collect, I find myself losing interest in these pieces. Sure, the occasional piece will catch my eye, but not like in the past.

Now, I find myself wanting more weight. I'm not certain if I want to focus on bars, rounds, coins, or some combination. To further confuse things, I committed myself to going heavier into gold this year. With that said, it's looking like I'll be adding more silver to the stack, which will slow down my gold purchases. It's an interesting predicament, but not terrible. First World problems, right?

What would you suggest I stack next?

man, I really want to start stacking on the silver, but it is already almost the second half of the year, and I am still yet to be able to do that. Hope things are getting better, and I can get something in the future to start metal stacking, but for sure will go for weight at the start. : )

It's never too late to start. Sometimes you have to start small, and work your way up to bigger amounts. 🙂

I love gold but I feel like there is too much fomo with it and silver is undervalued so the choice of what to stack harder to me is obvious!BBH !LOL !ALIVE

I agree with you that silver is certainly undervalued. Still, there's a reason they say gold is the money of kings. !LOL

Should be silver I think....

I've known gold prices to be quite volatile (now on a rise after a major fall) but silver is pretty much stable and/or keeps getting higher....

Best to hold and keep getting more of it now ..

Silver is definitely the better value play, which is why I keep coming back to it. I'll have to figure out how to get a little of both. 😁

It sure beats living in the rainforest hunting for your daily meals... Silver is a great way to go as is gold, just much more expensive!

First off that first image is amazing, I had no idea Bing AI was that good. When I was 10, I picked up my first coin, an 1890-something Morgan silver dollar. I had no idea that people stacked for weight. Interesting. I haven't bought a coin in ages, but when I did, I was attracted to proof coins due to how amazing they looked.

For the last 18 months I have stepped up on Stacking gold for the less volatile part of the Stack, I did the same for my Mom shifting her excess cash into gold only. I found myself far overweight in silver, conversely underweight in gold. I need three more ounces to where I feel as a good G/S balance for me.
I'm looking for another price dip.
With Silver, I got a big enough stack that I'm just picking up fun pieces as the icing on top.
