Be in The Moment

I am guilty of focusing on too many things at once in life. To some extent I can't escape it, but I can pick and choose where I spend my time. One of those areas I try to focus on is spending time with my kids.

I enjoy Hive, playing some Raid: Shadow Legends with some of the #pimp and #thealliance members, and chatting with people in the #silvergoldstackers and #mancave Discord servers. If I spent all of my time there, I'd likely never get anything done, so I have to budget my time accordingly.

If I didn't do this, I'd end up missing moments like this.

My sons have gotten into sword fighting, so we bought them foam swords. My oldest son thought stuffing three swords into his shirt would give him some sort of advantage. When he tried to take a sword out to fight me, he couldn't get them out! 🤣

My youngest son saw all of the fun and wanted to join in the fun. Then, the two decided to team up against me, the little cheaters! 😆

I think we spent a good hour chasing each other around the backyard, shouting "Defend your chickens!" (Don't ask. I have no clue how that phrase even got started! 🤦‍♂️) It was a blast, and looking back at it, I'm glad I took the time to step away from my phone.

Sometimes, we all just need to "disconnect" and take in the good things all around us. It can be a challenge, but I think it goes a long way in putting things in perspective and giving our minds a break from the everyday worries of life.

They were smart and made it so the top 4-6 inches is just pure foam and maybe 1 foot from the hilt up has a hollow plastic pipe inside for support. That way you can beat each other silly and nobody gets seriously hurt.
