Chashu Ramen from Island Sushi & Ramen
While you're sitting here, looking at this delicious bowl of Ramen, wishing you could enjoy it, so am I. It's far too hot to eat, so instead I'm writing a post about this delicious meal I've had many times before, while I wait for it to cool down.
I always thought Ramen was that stuff you bought in the styrofoam cups for $0.10 each. I had tried it and it reminded me of chicken noodle soup with a whole lot more noodles and no actual chicken. I also don't really care for canned chicken noodle soup. So, start with that as your frame of reference and picture my face when my sister offers to let me try her Ramen one day when we were eating out on vacation. I tried it, and I was astonished at how good it tasted!
Fast forward a couple of years and I had yet to find a local place that tasted anywhere near as good. As my wife and I were driving, we saw a new store opening up called Island Sushi & Ramen.

I tried their Ramen and it instantly took me back to the day I first tried real Ramen! I had finally found a place I could come back to regularly! 😁
Variations of Ramen
Unbeknownst to me, there are many variations of Ramen to choose from.

Good Ramen isn't cheap. The dish you saw in the picture above is their Chashu Ramen with medium hot Spicy Miso broth. In addition to the noodles and meat, they also include two halves of a hard boiled egg, bean sprouts and corn. It's a delicious combination of flavors and textures!

The Spicy Miso is a combination of their Tonkotsu broth and Miso broth, and I highly recommend it for maximum flavor!
I have yet to try their other variations, but I'm sure I will at some point! 😁

Spicy Miso is awesome! Very hard to find good ramen. There are few decent ones not far from here, but I imagine in Idaho they are probably much fewer! That looks awesome!
