My New Phone Is A Brick

My old phone decided to stop recognizing a charge. It's an annoying problem compounded by the fact that my work requires an MFA code sent to my phone via app or text so I can access my computer. Otherwise, I have to call the help desk to get a bypass code that's only good for 24 hours.

I quickly when out to get a replacement for my old Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. It's a good thing I did, because I got a call back from the repair shop telling me the old phone likely has a board issue and so it's not repairable at this point.

So, I am now the proud owner of a new Samsung Galaxy Brick. Just kidding. It's the S24 Ultra. I opted for it over the S24 because of the titanium frame and longer battery life. Buy once, cry once, right?

Fortunately, it didn't take long to import keys and get back up and running here on Hive. Thank goodness for backups!

I managed to back up contacts and photos to the SD card, so I'll work on getting it all imported to the new phone. I'm sure there are some apps I'm overlooking, but if I don't remember them, then I guess I didn't use them enough to be worth putting back on the new phone, right? This new phone should last me a long time, so at least moving forward, things will go much more smoothly.

I just find it ironic that the "step down" from this one was only a 0.1" difference in screen size.

Good luck! I bought my wife a Samsung a couple of years ago and I would probably never do it again. I prefer the Pixel models. She complains about hers all the time and it makes me feel horrible because I picked it out for her. Next time she is getting a Google Pixel.

Thanks! I've had good luck with them, so this one should last me 4-5 years.

I've heard good things about the Google phones but haven't tried them. Sorry to hear your wife isn't happy with her phone. 😔

How's the performance of phone.
If I am not wrong this phone has some great AI features also.
What about the camera?

From what I've read it has some great features, but I haven't tried them yet.

The camera seems to take good pictures. I haven't tried it on anything far away, so I'll have to test that at some point.

Congrats on the new toy! It's always a pain to get adjusted to the new one... but in the long run it should be really nice. Enjoy the pinnacle of Samsung technology!

Well, congrats on your new phone!

I generally hate changing devices because of all the file and other transfer issues, lack of compatibility here and there... and the time involved in getting it all to work the way I want it to.

Sounds like your experience was decent, though.
