River Trip Cider from Stack Rock Cidery

I'm picky with hard ciders. Often, they are too sour. Every once in a while they're too sweet, or too dry. Then, every once in a blue moon, I hit the jackpot.

I went on a wine tasting trip with some friends yesterday. The first stop was at a restaurant and ciderhouse. I ordered a flight of their sweetest ciders.

The first three were too sweet, but this fourth one was perfect. It's called River Trip, made by a local company here in Idaho. The main flavors are black currant and blueberry.

It smells like it has some slight acidity to it when you open it. When you taste it, however, there isn't any.

The flavors are very strong. It's only semi-sweet with no sour or bitter after taste. It's a great cider for sipping, but also a great cider for a hot summer day.

At $6 per bottle, it's not cheap, but it's not overly expensive either. While it may not be easy to come by, I highly recommend trying it if you come across it.

If I am to do a wine tasting I am definitely getting drunk after the third taste.

Yeah, that's definitely much cheaper by comparison. It might be because it's made in smaller batches.
