Selling to Declutter and Power Up

For someone who's newer to Hive, you look around at others who have thousands of Hive Power. You look at your post payouts and think, "It'll take forever to get there!" While everyone knows, "Rome wasn't built in a day," cute cliches are sometimes of little comfort to those just starting out on Hive.

I was very fortunate to have been introduced to the #silvergoldstackers community by @bitcoinman. The support there has been overwhelming. Then I was invited by @dbooster to check out The Alliance. I became part of The Family, and it's been wonderful spending time with everyone, and seeing everyone encourage each other.

Today, I wanted to provide a small tip I've been using to help power up faster than relying on payouts from my posts and comments. A great way to do this is to declutter your home of things you don't need and use the money from selling these items to power up.

A garage sale is one way you can do this, but can take the form of other things. There's quite the market for retro video games, Pokémon cards, sports cards, etc. If you have a lot of movies sitting around that you don't watch anymore, you may be able to sell them online and get some money back for them. As a bonus, you're decluttering your living space.

One thing I've been doing lately is going through my more premium silver pieces and selling them. While I'm not selling all of them, I've been slowly going through the collection and asking myself "Do I still want to keep this?" One such piece I recently said "No" to is a 1985 Libertad I used for a natural toning experiment.

Selling just this one piece and buying Hive will let me power up almost 100 HP. It would normally take me a month of post payouts to power up that much.

While I realize not everyone has a bunch of silver, stocks, crypto or other assets lying around, there are still ways to think outside the box, hustle and power up every now and then.

Smart move. At least short term, I see crypto doing better than precious metals, so that is where the bulk of my money is going: Hive and BTC.

Thanks! I agree. Plus, there are options for me to convert crypto back to metals down the line, so for now, I'm focusing on building my presence on Hive and portfolio. 😁
