Some fungi findings in my recent hikes

avatar
(Edited)

These days the rains have started to be less frequent, but there have been some and in my usual walks through La Fila Park I still find some mushrooms from time to time. So as it is still Friday on this side of the world, let me tell you in this FungiFriday about my latest finds during my walks.

A couple of days ago, I came across these mushrooms with a nice reddish color. It's the first time I've seen this kind of striking fungi in the mountains around here.

Fungi_LaFila_Nov_7.jpg

Google Lens told me it was a Red Hygrocybe (Hygrocybe Punicea).

They looked beautiful, and walking around later that day we came across this one. Much larger than the others, which looked like it had been plucked or stepped on. Perhaps it was crushed by one of the cyclists, who often mountain bike on these trails.

We tried to straighten it to take a picture.

I'm not sure what type of mushroom the following belongs to, but it's one of the most common ones we find on the trails we frequent.

It was on one side of the trail that was covered by small vegetation, and I loved the look of it among the moss.

And here is a closer look.

This one is of the same variety. But it was more large.

I think the biggest one we've come across so far.

On another of our recent walks, we came across these, whose cap is a bit wrinkled.

Google Lens told me it was a variety of Marasmius.

And since not all the beautiful details in nature during my hikes are fungi. These days, we've found on our way these pretty little purple flowers called butterfly peas.

And before I say goodbye, one more photo. The view from the viewpoint of La Fila Park of which I never get tired. Caracas and El Avila from there. And the striking large cloud in the sky that looked as if it was bursting from the top of the mountain.

This is my contribution to this week's #FungiFriday by @ewkaw.

That's all for today.

Thank you for reading:) And have a great weekend!

What I am seeing in your blog right now is a strange mushroom that is different in color from the fungus that is living in my country. I have always seen it. In the dead leaves.

I'm taking the chance to photograph all the fungi I find these days since in a few weeks the dry season will start here, and there won't be any for several months.

Have a great weekend, my friend @jlufer :)

I had never looked for mushrooms on my walks until recently, but I can tell you that it's a bit addictive and fun to look for them and take pictures:)

This is the first time I've seen those red ones! A few weeks ago, I saw a yellow one, and now these. It's so much fun to look for and photograph fungi, hehe.

All is well around here despite the hustle and bustle of life. Hope you are well too, sis. Have a good week 🤗
