Buying Hive using credit card: Transak or Bittrex?

avatar

These days when I purchase Hive, I use my credit card for its convenience. Whenever I see a dip, I will flash out my card to grab some. It had worked so far as I paid attention to the dips and keep lowering my overall purchase price to make up for the Hives bought at high prices earlier.

Another reason for not buying from a CEX directly is to avoid storing lump sum of USDT on it. This should require little explanation.

I was checking out alternatives to buy Hive after noticing an interruption in Transak's service today.

Let me report what I found. It may be useful for some of you.

This is what I found after checking out Bittrex:

They charge a 3% fee.

I checked the Transak price too almost immediately, and this is the results:

Basically, I will get more Hive if I buy it from Transak since USD 103 gives 373 Hive, while Transak gives 388 Hive for the same USD 103. That is a difference of 15 Hive.

I will stay with Transak in the meantime.

Yes, you have done exactly right, when you are getting more for the same price, you should go for the lower price. Anyone in your place would have done the same.

Now this is the best time to buy hive. Some exchange are such that when we try to buy, some error occurs. And the price goes up before we buy

Laughs that is a major difference hey... 15 hive! I can't even believe it.. And you pay a bigger fee on transak aswell... It might be that. Hidden fees are involved with the other party.

What I do is deposit money onto altcointrader and then I transfer that over to either binance or Hive-Engine and then purchase my hive from there

It’s always good to learn more. I will be learning more about buying HBD next! See if that’s any good. !PIZZA

I want to buy a few HBD and lock them up in savings... 20% APR is insane

I also think its best time to invest in crypto because every almost 80 '/' from its ath. Many big experts says Bitcoin see his bottom. We are just wait for the Bitcoin next move. Every dip is buying opportunity in this market. I have decided to buy some hive. 15 hive difference is very big. I always buy crypto through exchanges.

Ah! I have always been transacting with bittrex! Looks like it's time for me to look for a lower fee exchange 😅

Mine is through a credit card purchase though, so there might be cheaper alternatives with bank transfers.

Does Transak have any fees? I noticed that the price of Hive was different in both cases so does this mean that the feed they are getting price for is different?

Yea their prices are different because of different liquidity status I guess. Both have fees, and are different. I normally just look at the eventuality converted amount. !PIZZA
