Hey Hive Post, how much are you adding to my knowledge?
I have a suggestion for Veews https://veews.io/. I trust that Veews will view this post through their power of content discovery.
After all this time using Hive, I have noticed that Hive is a great source of information and entertainment. However, there are plenty of posts that are not worthy of spending time on.
The proportion is probably 1 good post to 8 "crappy"/irrelevant posts by my estimate, in terms of what I am exposed to.
I believe this problem of good posts hiding in the middle of irrelevant posts is not new. Thus the need for ways of uncovering good posts as proposed by Veews https://veews.io/. From my understanding, Veews uses an AI approach to understand each user's preferences and then expose relevant posts to them.
Not a bad idea, I would say, but recently I found myself asking a slightly different question when I come across a new Hive post.
This question might be of use to content discovery apps enthusiasts:
Hey Hive Post, how much are you adding to my knowledge?
Indeed, I skip the post when I can't find anything substantial that increases my knowledge. For example, there are a lot of general knowledge kind of post, albeit them having content on cryptocurrencies and blockchain. It is easy to tell that they are rehash of things from other sources. They might be useful for some people who needed the introductions, but not useful for those who are more knowledgeable on the topic.
Often, I find myself staying longer for posts that attempt to bring a new perspective to the table. I end up upvoting them and following the account.
So, Hey Hive Post, how much are you adding to my knowledge? is a simple and useful question to ask whenever I read a post. If it fails the test, I will give the post a miss.
Can this kind of reading preference be incorporated into Veews or other content discovery services to benefit the user?
I think it is possible.
Originally, the upvote button was intended for worthy posts to be better exposed should someone chooses to use it as an indicator of worthiness. However, we know that upvotes counts are typically inflated by curation trails, which can be unreliable for content discovery.
Since the upvote system is faulty, can Veews find a way to incorporate the response to the golden question (i.e., how much are you adding to my knowledge?) more directly?
It's a separate question from thumbs up or thumbs down, which can mean different things to different people. I am talking another way of providing feedback on whether the post content is adding to the reader's knowledge.
Once that data can be derived, there are plenty of stuff that can be done via text mining strategies to benchmark one's "current knowledge" to present the right content to the user.
Hopefully Veews or someone else can someday incorporate this.
Did this post add much to your knowledge?
P/S: This is not financial advice, and please do your own due diligence before investing.

That's true in a way, however I just used it to replace my social media. So I colloborate and talk shit alot here 🤣😂😎..
However veews is a great idea, more than great actually!
What I do is I follow and activate notifications on the users that I want to see regular content of. Let's take you as an example, whenever you post I get a notification and then I can read through your post, give a comment a like and a share.
There are some useless posts no doubt though.

I think as algorithms become more smart there could be a way to incorporate this query into content discovery tools/platforms. It could go as far as exposing you to information that match your level of knowledge and then gradually increasing it as you progress. It's very possible.
Can’t wait for the day to come! !PIZZA
I think veews is good but I do agree with your outlook of good versus bad posts. I only used it for a few hours but I felt that the algorithm wasn't good enough yet but it's still a beta. So there is plenty of time for them to improve. Did you try giving them a suggestion through their webpage?

Nay, what will be will be… !PIZZA
I am wondering how much value this post adds to my knowledge 😃.
Overall I agree, it is sad, that there is so little original content. All those giveaway posts, they are getting more and more.
Keep hunting for posts that are worthy of reading! !PIZZA
I will!

I think its a good way to find great and amazing posts. People who work hive often want to see crypto related post's. I have seen in many places that people who don't have a meaningful comment don't get voted. People should also post such posts which increase the knowledge of others. Those who have been in regional content are doing quite well on this.
Yes, I also noticed the thing about regional content. Intriguing! Wondered how they got it. !PIZZA
