Taking Stocks : Effects of powering up and curating strategically

I powered up 2000 HP on 29 November 2022 to push up the HP to 7000.

I always heard that things move faster when we exceed 10000 HP. I am not there yet, but I did notice my HP accumulation seems to be more visible, just judging from the number I see when I check my balance HP.

Maybe I am just getting better at writing posts, and getting rewarded more in that department. Nay, I don't like to think so. I prefer that my HP is working harder for me through curation rewards.

Let's take a look at the charts.

Note that 29 Nov 2022 is when I powered up 2000 HP. And I am interested in how the curation rewards are doing, i.e. the blue bars.

I have manually drawn 2 lines, the orange is before my 2K power up, and the white is after powering up. They are supposed to indicate the rough trend of my curation rewards.

Based on this limited info, I would think that I am doing better in my curation department. In absolute terms, it isn't much, but I am looking at a 150% increase on average.

Yes, I have powered up, so the curation rewards should increase given the stronger vote power. No surprises there. I reckon for someone with a smaller account, there might not be much that can be done to power up with cash, but there is something that can be done in terms of voting and curation, besides posting/commenting.

Strategically, what am I doing in my voting behavior?

Recently, I am more measured in my voting, such as keeping the mana high when voting, and strategically allowing it to restore. This allows me to spend less time curating and reward quality posts. I also learned how to minimize the effects of wasting votes due to not meeting the dust threshold.

Looking back, I seriously think I had been losing too much in the past due to dust votes. By keeping mana high, and becoming mindful of the dust threshold, I am doing myself justice.

There is a limit to how much I can power up with my cash, but no limit to how much the blockchain can reward me. So it's important to be strategic.

Sounds interesting. I'm also starting to build up my account, but I just reached my 1k hp goal.

Will read some attached links.

More HP means higher curation rewards (higher vote value). It doesn't help your luck in getting author rewards. So I think you are right in your findings.

I believe indirectly it would because I could potentially build better relationships with selected Hivers who would follow my posts. :)

I think it does over time but I don't think it's instant. Nothing really replaces engagement to build better relationships.

I powered up also. Looks like Hive will be down for a few weeks at least. Maybe there will be a Christmas bounce. Until it recovers, I will stay close to one hundred percent power up.

I buy a bit of Hive occasionally and keep it liquid for a while. If there is a pump I am ready to sell, if it doesn’t, I will power up. Then the cycle continues… hahah!

If you are looking for another article to post, you might want to discuss account creation tokens. You are getting close to the HP level where you can start claiming those. I'm not sure what to do with them, but I have 44 stacked up. It lowers your RC to claim the account credits.

No wonder I see that you have a very low RC now. I just delegated a tiny bit of RC to you to help you stay afloat there. Do you need more?

I will look into the account creation token. I've been curious about that too.

You don't need to delegate RC. I appreciate it, but it will recharge soon. I claimed three account tokens today and that took my RC pretty low. It will be back up in a day or two.
