These are the Black Friday deals on the PlayStation store that I capitalized on

All the games for the right prices 🎮🤑

As most of you know, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is typically known as the best shopping deals of the year. Although it is not as chaotic as it used to be before online shopping took the world by storm, there are still many sales during Black Friday which you might want to take advantage of.

I haven't been spending a lot of money on non-essentials this year, but there was one thing I had my money aimed at. I am of course talking about video games. That is why I was extremely happy when I saw PlayStation's Black Friday sale began a whole week before Black Friday even was here.

The sale didn't offer as big of a discount as I was hoping, but I am happy to report that every single game that I have been waiting to purchase at a reduced cost was on sale at the same time.

I had some ETH sitting in my old NFT wallet on Metamask, so I used that to make a batch purchase of 5 different video games to add to my library. I also happened to do this on the same day that I had my largest Instacart order ever, over $150. So I'd like to think that this all worked out perfectly.

Now let's take a brief look at each game that I recently purchased during the Black Friday sale.

1. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

$45

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and absolutely loved Jedi: Fallen Order. I was dying to get my hands on Jedi: Survivor ever since it was released on April 28, 2023. I may have had to wait nearly 7 months, but that did allow me to save $30 on the game. It's hands down the best open-world Star Wars game ever created, sorry KOTR. There just isn't another game out there that does a better job of making you actually feel like a Jedi. Then add in the fact that it's a Souls-like of sorts and you really have an interesting game. The combat, lore, and exploration are all perfect in my eyes. I just love this game so much and feel like I could get lost in it for a very long time.

2. Evil West

evilwest.jpg
$32

What happens when you combine cowboys, vampires, and combat similar to the newer God of War games? You get Evil West. This is a striking Western title that bridges the gap between shootouts and horrific moments. I waited almost an entire year to purchase this game since it was released on November 22, 2022. There is a mix of heavy hand-to-hand combat with combos and also short and long-range weapons. Out of all the games on this list, I'd say it ranks last, but that's not because it is bad. It's just simply due to the fact that all of these other games are so great. Oh, and it has co-op, so my brother can just drop in with me anytime and experience what the game has to offer.

3. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Chaotic Great Edition)

tinytina's.jpg
$24

If you've ever played Borderlands, then you know what to expect with Wonderlands. Borderlands was the first looter shooter that I ever played and that was back in 2009. I loved the game so much and it taught me so much about inventory management, plus upgraded my first-person shooter skills with the excellent gunplay. It's also quite humorous, which Wonderlands takes to a whole new level. There are all sorts of dirty jokes and just odd things happening. This was the game that I almost didn't purchase, but then say the $100 version (Chaotic Great Edition) with all of the DLC was on a deep discount. Getting this for only $24 is an absolute steal as the game has so much content. Wonderlands was released on March 25, 2022, making it the oldest of the games I purchased and also the cheapest. Then there is the fact that drop-in co-op is seamless so my brother can always play with me anytime we are both online. We've already tried that once and it went great. You may be surprised, but as of writing this, Wonderlands is my most played of the bunch. It's absolutely one of the most fun first-person shooter titles that I have ever played.

4. Hogwarts Legacy

$45

This was the game that had been on my PlayStation wishlist the longest. It was the first game I added to the list when I got my PS5. It took a few years for it to be released, but finally, on February 10, 2023 it came out. I refused to pay $70 for it, no matter how good I knew it would be. I am not a massive Harry Potter fan, but I have watched all of the movies and even went to Wizard Fest before. The magical world is undeniably cool and this game allows you to live in it as if you were a student at Hogwarts. This is the only game on the list that my brother purchased, so shoutout to him for giving us both access to this amazing RPG. It's going to be tough to juggle Jedi: Survivor and Hogwarts Legacy as I am more of a Star Wars fan than Harry Potter. Both will be completed eventually though, I assure you that.

5. The Crew Motorfest

$45

Last but certainly not least is the beloved open-world racing title set in Hawaii, The Crew Motorfest. I had a 5-hour trial for this game and instantly fell in love with it. It came out on September 11, 2023, so it is the newest of the games that I bought. This is the best experience I've had driving around Hawaii and yes that means it tops Test Drive Unlimited, which I also loved. Motorfest is set on the stunning island of O'ahu. This game is just so colorful and high quality. There are many famous people and real racing scenes used in the cinematics. I highly recommend that you watch all of them, do not skip the cutscenes in this game. Be sure to listen to your AI friends when they start telling you random facts about Hawaii, it's really cool. Don't let me fail to mention that arcade racing is some of the best out there. It's in the same realm as the Forza Horizon games, but the Crew Motorfest still does plenty to stand out on its own.

Why digital❓

You may wonder why I am so committed to purchasing all of my games digitally now instead of buying the slightly cheaper physical copy. The number one reason for that is so that me and my brother can both play the games. You see, we game share on PS5, which allows us both access to each other's entire library of games. It's the obvious move for us.

Stay tuned for upcoming first impressions videos for each of these new games. I am so happy that all of them are literally amazing and it's nice to finally have these games in both mine and my brother's libraries.

Back when I had a PS4 me and my cousin did that all the time. In fact if there was a big release we were both interested in we would go half on it.

It's such a great feature that does indeed reduce cost for my brother and I both. I'm honestly surprised PlayStstion still allows such a thing seeing as overall PlayStation's tactics are pretty greedy as of late with price increases to PS Plus and overpriced peripherals.

Hopefully, you can save up for a PS5. In the meantime, my advice is to enter as many giveaways as possible. I've won some high-dollar items that way.

The Crew Motorfest looks like a mix of Need for Speed and Forza Horizon. Probably a very much enjoyable game, but with the $45 USD price it is still very expensive.

That's exactly what it feels like too. I agree that I'd like to have gotten it cheaper, but it is what it is.

I only experienced Black Friday Sale madness when we moved to the USA. It's crazy how deals are actually very cheap! Especially the TVs! Lol So we decided to get a TV for when we use our treadmill. 😂

It's nowhere near as crazy as it used to be. 10-15 years ago it was complete madness. Now so many people do their shopping online and still get the same deals.
Congrats on your tv!

We bought the TV online, so yeah, I understand why you said that. Most people nowadays opt for convenience. Since moving to our new home, we are an hour away from Costco, lol.

Thanks!
