Mar. 27, 23: Routine, Quest, Chores, TV, and Games

[Well, shite. Up and at 'em at four this morning...not terribly happy about it, and I'm sure I'm going to pay for it, but it has given me a little leeway as far as not having to be crazy rushed getting this post done.]

I got to sleep super late again last night, nearly eleven. 😱 I probably should have known better than to have a Red Bull in the afternoon (was trying to wake up, I guess that worked). Was up three or four times and moved out to the couch around 12:30 ish and then the neighbor's tiny dick truck woke me up at six. Ended up about three quarters of an hour short of my eight hours, but somehow I made it through the day without crashing.

Got a fairly early start on the morning routine and was able to let myself kind of get distracted here and there (helps to work for a bit, take a little break and come back to it). Can't think of much particularly extraordinary that happened with that, just did all the usual morning stuffs.

I tried to prep a little bit for teaching tomorrow (as well as in the afternoon), and I think Calculus I is fine, going to finally properly introduce the antiderivative, but we're so far ahead of schedule in Calculus II that it's actually stressing me out.

From what I'm looking at right now, we have a full four classes (two weeks) that I have no idea what to do! 😱 Been thinking about trying to slow up, or perhaps get them a little ahead for Calc III (not sure). It's good that we can take a little more time to deal with parametric and polar, they generally get really smooshed in at the end, but I'm not sure I can drag that out (double the current plan) or not. 🤔

Checked on the crypto markets and it looks like we're still in some sideways chop here. As I understand, the FED is sticking to a .25 basis point interest rate hike (while printer go brrr bailing out the banks)...absolute crazytown, no wonder the market doesn't know which way to go. 😠 Of course, HIVE doesn't seem to have so many doubts. 🤬

With MATIC still falling harder than ETH, I didn't bother to go in to see how much more money I'm losing...I'm just sure it's more. 😭 Why, oh why, didn't I bail when I had the chance? Although, I did hear that Polygon just made a big new partnership, so maybe a little good news will help? Can't do anything really other than sit and wait and hope.

[Dang it, only looking at about fifty minutes left and I'm well shy of a thousand words...starting to feel a little crunched, but hopefully I'll be alright.]

So, let's see...what else to say about today? I got a solid post done and published and shared and then almost immediately jumped into VR and played some Drop Dead.

There was a patch (not everything, but they did fix several of the janky things like they changed up the matchmaking and the belt actually displays the ammo amount like it should...but you can still glitch through some doorways and stuff) and, for some reason, they nerfed all my gun progress (I'd maxed the pistol and nearly finished the revolver 🤬) which ramped the difficulty back up again (less damage, range, and no laser sight), meaning I can't seem to get any farther than I have been.

Playing with the Quest plugged in kind of sucks and the wire is a little annoying, but it solved the battery problem for sure. I can totally just play and not worry about getting barked at and then booted, so that's definite progress (at least in terms of blowing days like today 😜).

Quit out and got lunch and then cleaned up in the kitchen. Honestly, that's all I did and I debated whether it was enough enough to warrant going in my post title, but it was so bare otherwise I went with it...oh, I hopped in the shower as well and started messing with a new WombPlay game that came out today: Forest Knight.

Seems very similar to Lords Mobile and the endless other clones of that, BUT, it does pay WomBucks for certain progress goals as well as daily playtime (helps with the challenges) and one of the achievements is to withdraw and NFT for the first time...I think it's on Polygon, but so far I haven't unlocked anything that has mentioned blockchain or NFTs, so I'm not sure.

After a brief spurt of moderate productivity, I jumped back into VR to try a few more rounds. As I said, still not really able to get any farther than I could before, but in the meantime I'm grinding XP for the guns again as well as getting close to maxing out my profile (hopefully they won't nerf that all of a sudden too 😯).

Anyway, was a good coincidence that we died just as Wenche was finished with work and I helped set the table while she made us curly fries and super yummy burgers for dinner.

After dinner I did try to legit finish out my steps and I paced some laps watching the usual Nile Red (and some Nile Blue, why not?) and then even marched in place for a bit before laying down, but full disclosure, I still had to cheat. 😠

We put on some Married with Children and I did my shaking...nearly fell asleep before I finished, but I got it this time.

[Nice. Fifteen hundred words with ten minutes to spare. 💪 Still don't quite have a clear idea of what I'm going to teach in Calc II today, though. 😱]

Splinterlands:
WTF? We were doing so well there for a minute...but then yesterday my Splinterlands rental income fell by twenty cents, today it fell again by another thirty cents down to a dollar forty. 😡 Between staking all my SPS and GLX, my income has been foreshrunked already, throw on buying WAX and PIMP like a maniac and jumping into every new pool that pops up and I've got no liquid left. 😱 I need this to pick up, not decline!!!

I claimed my SPS interest for the day and really struggled this time...I need liquid again...but I staked it all again anyway. Don't ask me why when the goal is to get more GLX but it's just getting worse and worse.

dShitty:
No crime or crises in dShitty today and my SIM income held stable at forty-one. My HIVE income went up another thousandth and I'm now raking in .04 per day...only twenty-five days to get a whole HIVE? It's rolling in now, bois! 😛 Still, it's better than the nothing I was getting before.

RS:
Went in on Rising Star a couple times today. I had drunk fans, so I just kept on with missions, but when I went in my energy hadn't completely refilled and I had to do one of the lesser ones. Now that the drunks have expired, I do have one percent Ego, so I switched over to a lesson to get it back to zero.

HK:
My BUDS balance has grown by a whopping thirty (from divvies I guess) since I took this picture. Not worth taking another one yet, though Beard is still several weeks behind on the giveaways now, so it should change by a bit more whenever he gets those out.

GLX:
Dude, like seriously, what the hell is going on with GLX lately? I guess I'm contrary to the herd...I decided to go into all out stake mode when everyone else decided it's time to dump it all out? I mean, the decline in the price of HIVE might be a part of it, but it didn't really go up much when HIVE did, so I'm not sure I can blame it on that.

Despite feeling a little stupid, and despite my need for liquid HIVE, I staked it all again today.

WOO:
Not sure what happened here. The percentages might have been adjusted or it might have to do with the times I claimed yesterday versus today. Either way, my stake and delegation rewards took a bit of a hit today.

I snagged my airdrop and staked up what I got from he pools, as usual, but I still didn't get any mining rewards and I didn't get the WOO I was thinking about grabbing (and I don't have any HIVE to blow at this point). 😢
