Change of Scenery and Other Random Stuff
I have pretty much lost count of the number of times I have "reinvented myself" since I chose the path of self-employment, over 25 years ago.
Come to think of it, I was reinventing myself even before then... likely a reflection of the fact that I have never been particularly committed to going in any specific direction.
As a kid and teenager, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still don't really know!
Today, I started the final bits of shutting down a microbusiness I have had since 2006... because it more or less became obsolete.
Which made me realize that most of my personal reinventions have been the result not of me wanting to do something new, but because what I was doing became obsolete OR was replaced by outsourcing or automation.
So now I am shutting down my beachcombing and found objects business...
Meanwhile, on Hive
Waking up to a 3-year low for Hive this morning made me wonder about exactly where and when it is in the Cryptosphere that we see the market stage known as "capitulation."
Then I realized that it likely doesn't even apply here, since Bitcoin is actually near new highs, even with the most recent setback. So pretending we're at some kind of "market bottom" is actually nonsense.
In truth, it just seems like it is Hive that's in a slump. And I'm not basing that on the price in dollars and cents, but on tracking Hive's ranking on Coingecko. We're basically going backwards, compared to most crypto!
Does make you pause and wonder just what the underlying problem is.
I expect the answer is "so many things" as it often is, in life!
Of course I'm planning to leave or anything, but it's a clear signal to not expect Hive to provide any sort of measurable income stream.
I guess I could go all negative with it and just say that it serves as evidence of what most people believe: online content typically has very little value unless you have thousands or even millions of followers and views.
Most of us don't...
Not gonna lose sleep over it. Tomorrow is another day, and maybe an altcoin season will happen, after all... someday.
