Reflection: On Starting a New Month and Things That Cannot be Seen!
Somehow, I feel a considerable sense of relief at knowing that it is now October!
For no particular reason, I've always had a relatively good feeling about the months of October November and December as we wind down another year, and the summer months have often been — to say the least — "Troublesome", in my world.
2023 was definitely not an exception! The prolonged crypto Bear market — among many other things — has made it necessary for me to re-shuffle my world, once again.
Earlier this afternoon I found myself contemplating the whole concept of things we cannot see.
Of course there are lots of people in the world who will insist that things we cannot see or scientifically measure simply do not exist so believing they exist is folly and stupidity.
Whereas I have no beef with their particular belief system (or lack of), I do find it interesting that we literally have billions of people on this planet who fervently believe that some omnipotent being that most often lives up in some unspecified region of the sky actually is real and exists (even though nobody's actually seen or met him/her/it) and we call those folks religious or spiritual.
But if the colorful lady across the street believes that there are fairies living at the bottom of her garden, we call her a "nut job" and if she gets too insistent about those fairies? Well then we're going to lock her up in a little room with padded walls.
But this isn't a post about beliefs, as such. Nor is it about ghosts or faeries, as such. It's more about how poorly many people understand themselves.
The unseen is strange, in its myriad variations.
Consider, for example, that the same people who doesn't believe in anything that's not visible or measurable with scientific instruments... likely will be happy to share that they have been in love and perhaps they are even married and have children!
Have you ever "seen" love? Have you ever measured it? Unlikely! But we're all pretty certainly we know what "it" is, and that we have experienced "it."
It's not as easy to summarily dismiss the things that cannot be seen as you might think!
Hope is another thing that cannot be seen or measured... and yet almost all of us understand what it is, and have felt it (hopefully!) at one time or another.
And that rounds out my somewhat looping thinking, this night... because I am feeling hopeful that the 4th quarter of 2023 will be turnout to be better for all of us, following this otherwise difficult year.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week ahead!

«-Love & Hopes-»
So so true, and list of the unseen is not out of place. Love and hope exist but we can not see it, how about the air we breathe in? We can not see it either but it does exist. By the way, your photographs are amazing
Well, I also feel good whenever we are in months that ends with BER
I guess it makes me happy because Christmas is fast approaching
