Kencana Ungu Liar ~ Ruellia tuberosa
It's been a while since I have started using my old Camera, the Nikon Coolpix L830. Maybe it's already two months, I really do not pay attention about the time line due to works. Anyway Nikon Coolpix is a prosumer camera from 2014, so I can not expect something great from it. In fact I should buy a bit expensive smartphone which has better capability in taking some shots.
However I have decided to learn some photography here, and with some help from my friend, @ekavieka, @poplar-22 , and @arveno , I have taken some shots of various objects. The earliest images were so bad, I had not known how to control the camera. I have another issue to that current cellphones have some AI in image editing, so everything it's kind of automatic.
I This one was from a week ago, I decided to check on my front yard to get some object for my photo shots practices.
I found some small bushes, a wild ones. None of my family planted these flowery bushes. It is called KENCANA UNGU LIAR, or in English it is Wild Purple Kencana (Ruellia). The latin name is Ruellia Tuberosa, or some people call it minnie root or Snapdragon Root.
I really do not know why some people call it Snapdragon Root, snapdragon itself comes from Antirrhinum genus, and this one is Ruellia genus. Well it's up to them anyway to call this flower which any name they like.
Earlier I thought some badger or fox came here and their dung made this flowers popping out. However after I googled a while, I learnt that this Ruellia is easily spread out, like a wild bush. from their steem and their seed, so it's kind of pest too.
Some of the flowers come in four, such as the above shot. Two have blossomed, while the other two have not yet fully blossomed. I haven't found any flowers which came in more than four set, maybe they are exist but not on my yard.
These two were well blossomed too, and soon to be a triplet. I saw that most of them can be blossomed in a pair at the same time. The last one I took that shot to identify which flower it was. Because if you have seen some similar flowers, having to know how their leaves is very helpful to identify the flower.
I like the Ruellia which comes in singular. It's easier to make take the shot, either with manual focus or using auto focus feature.
Ok that's for today shots. Looking forwards for your inputs here, I hope I could improve my skills and knowledge from you guys.
Thank you for visiting my post here. I am learning about photography here and I am open to any kind of feedback and inputs so I could improve my skills and knowledge in photography here.

By the way: cool, these CoolPix are these really SuperZoom things, right? The lens looks awesome, according to the numbers! I had one in the past... but a more entry level model. Or was it a FujiFilm? I think so... Actually I run a Nikon D750, but don't use it as the cam should be used... Could be sad... So it makes me more happy to see you acting in this area! I wish you a lot of fun with (not only) this doing!
Stay as you are!
cool pix is an entry level, here as the comparison
https://cameradecision.com/compare/Nikon-D750-vs-Nikon-Coolpix-L810
your D750 is better, but for convenience.. better buy cellphone with great camera lens than another DLSR or prosumer camera
That is a cool site! Very interesting to see the facts side by side.
Yeah, the D750 may be "better" from a technical view, but ... as you already know: Yes, a fine arts guitar may sound better than the 50 USD model. But at the end it is how you play - or if you play at all. And I think with picturing things this factor is much more relevant. We all know artists who work with camera of any age or specs and create great views.
Damn, this triggers me to start a small photo contest here on Hive. Are you on? Do you think 1 HSBI is to less as a price? 1 HSBI I could afford (lol)...
Yeeees, the cellphone stuff is awesome! From time to time I see IPhone or Galaxy stuff. These kind of cameras are really great in some situations. Just point and click and bamm, awesome looking colors... But we have more things to tune, I mean. Isn't it? But maybe it is like with every synthesizer: you can have the most awesome instrument, bet wehen you can't/know how to turn the knobs, a owner never will unleash the full potential.
Like the guitar from above...
Oh, I think I will start a photo contest not between us two, but for public... Do you like to suggest the first contest topic?
Hive a great day!
hmmm that would be interesting, however there are already some regular photography contests / challenges on HIVE here. Each has theme/topic, the last two I notice are Gaming Photography (mostly open world high detail graphic screen shot) and Phone Photo contest (taking pic with our phone).
I saw you were on bike before, so I think if you start photo contest... maybe things that related to your bike is the better one... such us off-road course / dirt track, trail run course , mountain view or some walking path in forest... or maybe your ride, how you have modified and remodeled it, etc.
But better if you collaborate with existing related photography community first, because they have the network/people. just my 2 cent.
