There Is No Weak Summoner
Hallo There
Welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands post. Every week I make some Splinterlands posts, usually I write them during weekend but today is a bit different. I am not feeling well so I spend more time working from home for the last few days.
Today topic should be a simple one, I name this as
THERE IS NO WEAK SUMMONER
Is this true, There is no weak summoner? Every summoner are strong?
To be honest, this is false actually. There are some strong summoners, stronger than most summoners in general. And there are summoners, who are stronger than those stronger summoners, and they can classified as the "strongest".
Let's take one example here, the Eternal Tofu. Currently this is the most expensive summoner for modern format rank battle. There is one solid reason why this card is the most expensive, because it is one of the strongest... Some even dared themselves to state this is as the strongest from Rebellion edition.
I am kind of agree with that argument because this summoner can counter some favorite meta and Eternal Tofu can let you deploy certain meta that other summoners can not. But this post is not about Eternal Tofu. It is not about the strongest summoners, it is about there is no weak summoner which mean any summoner could give you a win, regardless they are strong or not strong.
That is why I say no weak summoners, because all summoners can win. OK, let see our battle then... Which I will show you "weaker" summoners could give you the victory
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
This is the battle I pick for today reference, a brawl battle in Tier 5 guild brawl. I did not have many option to rent, due to the recent Survival mode which made cards hard to get from rental market.
I had to go with General Sloan, and honestly I did not think Sloan was the strong summoner I wanted to use. In fact, Sloan might be the least I wanted to use, but I just could use him that time. I could get Lobb Lowland too, but the cards in the team weren't available for selection.
Lobb Lowland was defintely stronger than General Sloan, and with 53 mana cap, that 2 mana difference between those two summoners could be neglectable. To put this worse, they had two gladiator cards in that line up and both were dangerous ones. I believed my chance to win was very slim due to that Katrelba Gobson, but I saw overall my line up was a bit better than him. how it was a bit better. let's see how this battle will proceed first
- The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. My lineup was relying on my backline range units, and they had a couple of strong gladiator cards in the middle which became my massive threads.
- They came with 6 melee damage, 6 range damage and 2 magic damage. Combined all it became 14 damage per round. It's a good firepower anyway.
- My team had 10 melee damage, and 8 range damage. Combined all they became 18 damage per round.
- We had equalizer ruleset here, so small or big units did not make much different. It's all about our firepower and I had that advantage. However I must count in the factor that they had two bloodlust ability holders.
- Round 2 started with both side having almost the same condition with the first round. Nobody died in the first round, this was caused by the equalizer ruleset, every cards had massive 12 health point, so hard to kill any of them.
- In this round, both of us lost our main tank. So the real brawl started next round
- Round 3 started with 5 vs 5 condition, looked like we were equal. Due to equalizer ruleset, it did not matter which units came forward next, they were good enough to be the secondary tanks.
- However there was one big problem on their side, which was the SPEED issue. you could see that my team was absolutely faster than them, this lead to a condition which my team moved first killing their Blackmoor Wild Elf and Tatiana Blayde before they could do anything.
- Round fourth started here, and the same speed issue was there. This became one sided swiped off from my team. We killed two of their units again in this round.
- Round Fifth was the last one. Good Game
WHY DID MY SLOAN WHICH WAS WEAKER WIN?
So in that battle, we could see that they had better summoners, they had better units too, but the fact that they lost badly against my team. There are two points that we can take from that battle. Ok lets start from the first one.
Speed Dictates the Battle
This is the fact, and many posts I have made before talked about how important having a high speed team, or having units that are faster than your opponents.
General Sloan is not a great one however he can connect well with some units, which one of them is this supply runner. Sloan will buff his attack +1 up, making this supply runner having 3 range damage. That's not something that fantastic, however it is a very good combination.
Having a Sloan and Supply runner could cover up what General Sloan is lacking. So overall your team could perform better.
Summoner Is Part of The Team
Another funny point, isn't it? Summoner is part of the team, which means summoner is important but they are not the only reasons your team will lose or win. How good your team is decided by the summoners and the units you choose.
So sometime, even you use less favorite (I don't want to say weak) summoner but it can connect very well with the rest of the cards, they will form a very solid team. It's about the team that important, which meta and how you will implement it.
That's why even there is a weak summoner, I will say there is no weak summoner because even the weak can win over the strong one.
So what do you think about this one case, do you agree with me or you have different opinion? Please leave your comment and opinion below. That's all for today post, and Thanks for coming and let's meet in Splinterlands Battles!!
