DUO Status Update - 7/17/24

Here is the latest update on the DUO token! There's been a lot happening, so let's dive in and see the status of the project!

We've given it some thought and weighed everyone's input. We want everyone to know we greatly appreciate the feedback! We've reached a decision on a plan we think will give people the maximum benefit possible given the circumstances.

To keep curation sustainable and as open to as many DUO stakers as possible, we'll have to implement tiers. While we realize that will cause APR to drop, dividends will be starting in August to help offset some of this drop in vote weight. Only 10% of what is brought in via HP, tokens, HBD, etc., will be staked to grow the curation account, the rest will be sent out in the form of Hive dividends.

While we'll still have to implement tiers, we understand that many will want to get the highest upvote possible. To make this as fair as possible, we'll hold off on implementing tiers until the first tranche of DUO completely sells out. This will give people as much opportunity as possible to acquire as many DUO tokens as possible. We will still continue to adjust the voting weight to try and avoid the mana going bellow 80% and having some stakers get skipped over on having their posts curated.

Once the first tranche of DUO tokens sells out, the initial curation tiers will be implemented. These will be subject to review to ensure the voting mana is sustainable and as many stakers as possible have their posts curated.

200 DUO staked - 20% vote
300 DUO staked - 30% vote
400 DUO staked - 40% vote
500 DUO staked - 50% vote
600 DUO staked - 60% vote
700 DUO staked - 70% vote
800 DUO staked - 80% vote
900 DUO staked - 90% vote
1000+ DUO staked - 100% vote

As set out before in the white paper, the three founders (@bitcoinman, @bulliontools and @thebighigg) will only receive 50% of the maximum vote based on their respective tier.

HP Growth
Right now we're sitting at 6,903 HP! That is amazing considering we're not even done with the month!

Everything has been powered up to this point. We'll be staking all Hive-Engine tokens earned through July to create a baseline for curation. After that, 90% of all tokens, HBD, etc earned will be sold off and paid out as dividends. Only 10% will be staked or powered up in order to grow the project.

Right now, nothing has been delegated to the HOC account while we're still growing the project. We didn't set an exact timeline for this, but we will announce this change once it's effective.

Dividends and Tipping
Just as a reminder, you must stake 200 DUO to receive dividends and be eligible for post curation. The tipping requirements are as follows:

500 staked tips 0.1 (1x/day)
1k staked tips 0.2 (1x/day)
5k staked tips 0.3 (1x/day)
10k staked tips 0.5 (2x/day)

Sales
Right now, DUO is being sold for 0.5 Hive each for early adopters. Of the 20,000 available around 6,200 are left for sale in this tranche. We've closing in on 75% sold of the first tranche!

The next tranche of 40,000 DUO will be sold for 1 Hive each, so get in early while there's still time!
