Caught In the Act : Gametis forticula
I found this beetle almost stayed still in the small tree leaf, it seems like it is motionless, but since I have seen this guy a few times, I know that this beetle is not dead, but maybe lazy to the death so it just stayed still while I took several photos of him.
Why I put the caught in the act as the title, it seems that this beetle was plotting on something, maybe still composing some strategy to find the best flower for it to feed on.
From a short search on Google, One page showed me the same species which say that this beetle might be Gametis forticula formosana (Nomura, 1959) A species of scarab beetle that is native to Taiwan.
Unfortunately other than that site, I could not find the matching photo from the one I have. although it might not be the same species, it is definitely from the same genus, the Gametis Genus.
