Hard working tiny stingless bee (15 photos)
I will be spamming this post with the photos that I have of this little hard-working insect. This little guy was so focused on his duty that he almost completely ignored my presence. While most of the nectar-feeding insects are skittish, and would never stay in one flower for far too long, this one is a little bit different. Not sure if it is its behavior, but for sure this is one of my lucky days so I could get so many photos of this little guy.
After a little search this insect which first I thought was a wasp is actually one of the stingless bee species. Also it is one of the native to Indonesia, or the South East Asian Nation. This is so interesting as well, although I know that the current most popular bee is Apis melifera which is native to Europe or African nations, I thought their presence here in the archipelago was because of coincidence, but the fact is that it was deliberately brought here because they are known to produce a larger amount of honey.
This stingless bee is a little larger than the one that my brother has at home. also the color is a little bit different, and the pattern of its eyes is also different.
This bee was too busy to even care of my presence and continue its work collecting the pollen and the nectar from the Wedellia flower. It has no time to worry about me, since it still has better things to do, also it is alone, so basically it has no weapon that it can use to attack me.
You can also see that as its moves around the flower, the pollen that got stuck on its leg hairs accumulated more and more, and you can see the the yellow color on its leg is getting stronger and stronger which indicates that more pollen got stuck and trapped on its legs.

haha, this little guy has no interest in me, so it is better to keep on working than to waste its time worrying about me. Thank you very much for your kind words and appreciation my friend.
That's one beautiful bee! It knows you would not harm it so it just went on with its thing :)
the bee know I am harmless and jobless, so it kept on going. hahaha.

Colorful flower that the bee chose to get busy on lol! Their concentration when they're at work is next level.

Thank you very much om, your are always better than mine.
Amazing insect. I'm intrigued by its yellow abdomen, which is the same colour as the flower. I wonder if the two are somehow related. Great shots.
