Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata

Well, I think I misidentified this ladybug in the past since I thought that this ladybug was the same kind of ladybug that hunts plant pests, like whiteflies or plant ticks. But apparently, I was wrong, and this is actually one of the plant pests itself.

This lovely ladybug of Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata or commonly known as 28-spotted Potato Ladybird maybe it because the number of spots it has on its body.

The other thing that I noticed about this ladybug is that it has a kind of dull color on its body, maybe because of the small grey hairs all over its body which make the color of this ladybug look a bit dull, a little bit different from the one that become a predator.

They actually feed on the soft tissue of the plant leaves where they live. the adult eats on the upper part of the leaf while the larvae eat on the underside of the leaves. I think now I know the reason why the leaves of the plants around my parent's house have lots of holes. I thought it was done by other leaf eating insect, and I could never expect that they are the culprit.
