It is more than just a painful sting

Look at the innocent looking wasp below, let me know what do you think if this small bright colored insect, do you think it has a painful sting?

Apparently, this little wasp has more than just a sting, something more dangerous, and a more scary fact. This bright wasp belongs to the Braconidae family, The Braconidae are a family of parasitoid wasps. . You heard it right, there is something more sinister from this cute little creature, which is luckily not harmful to human.

The female of this wasp will inject its egg into the host which sometimes are the nymph of the other species, like a caterpillar or smaller insect. The egg will hatch inside of the host, and eat the host inside out. Speaking of a monster or a zombie in real life. scary isn't it?

Look at the sting part of this creature as you can see in the photo below, it is long, and black in color, so it contrasts with the bright orange or yellow color of its body.

But, still if you look closely you can admire the beauty of this little wasp, with its bright color, the strong difference of the color of its body which contain black and orange color, as well as the overall shape of this wasp. It really an amazing nature.

That bright orange color definitely looks attractive but one of the functions of this creature is truly frightening! Amazing shots, the background scenery is always beautiful :)

Very pretty wasp. I think their reproduction cycle is fascinating, and makes me glad they aren't the size of eagles or we might be on the host list!

That should be very scary if this wasp is as big as the eagle,
but I guess the population problem will not be as big as it is now if that thing is happening.
just kidding

"The egg will hatch inside of the host, and eat the host inside out." That is so scary! Thank god that wasp doesn't do that to humans. That would suck. Anyways, thank you for the information @ekavieka! Now I know that I should run for my life when I see one of those things! 😂 Keep up the good work!

hahah, lucky for us I guess, at least we can enjoy the beauty and not to worry about them injecting the egg to us, because that would be worrisome. The next thing you know after observing this wasp, something is moving below our skin.
