People who were feeding the FOMO back when STEEM was going up... by extension HIVE was supposed to do even better!
In 2017 STEEM went from $0.07 to almost $2.50. People made a lot of money on that pump if they sold, but instead many held on with claims of double digits in the future. I bought at $1.60 and I expected it to only go up from there.... I was a crypto-newb who bought into the hype. STEEM did later go up to $6.00 and I sold some, but still surely we'll be seeing at LEAST $10.00 soon. HIVE all that much more after the fork.
Amazing. Just like playing penny stocks on a stock exchange. Mostly runaway emotions and failure to exercise the frontal lobe. !LOLZ

Yup, the "high" of a pump and the prospect of more instant wealth, prevents people from selling. Sometimes it's time to sell, even if it's not at the peak. It's better than holding the bags until the deep deep valley.
Although selling the hill instead of the mountain can happen too, look at all the BTC stories where people recount how much BTC they had in the past before selling at 1 or 2 thousands.
Best to have a well defined strategy before executing any trade.
Now you do have to be disciplined. !LOLZ
