RE: A Sleepy Photographer's Dilemma

I'm not a morning person too, so I see what you mean. And with a family I also don't always have enough time during walks to make the best shots.

Lower your expectations and enjoy your walks in nature (easier said then done). And don't forget to notice the small things. I often spot fungi, insects, tiny plants and more.
A macro lens is useful then.

And when you're lucky you'll get your nice shots.

Lowering the expectations is very much needed, that's for sure. But that's a struggle I've had for all my life. As we say in Dutch "Ik leg de lat altijd hoog voor mezelf".

That will often lead to disappointment, and not even to mention that I make things hard for myself. Ah well, live and learn. One day ...

Gooi die lat toch weg 😀
Just go for a walk outside in nature to clear your mind and because walking is healthy.
Maybe even leave the camera at home and enjoy the moment as you see it.

Ah, als dat eens zo makkelijk zou kunnen. Lol ... Ooit zal ik het leren.

Leaving the camera at home and just walking away is an everyday thing for me. When I go walking with the dogs I rarely take the camera with me nowadays. It was different when I had Rowan and Myla together ... but these days with Myla and Lana both old and Skipper much too enthusiastic and not always easy to handle, it's better to leave the camera at home.

Maybe that will change one day, I hope so ... but until that day. I have to adjust to what is feasible and enjoy nature and my walks with the dogs without a camera.
