Since Gene usually picks two and I pick two I’m gong to pick four tunes myself today from 1998 that Gene forgot. I happen to know his list for part 2 next week and will be avoiding that also and picking all tunes he isn’t. Let’s Go!

First up it’s a poppy anthem from Smash Mouth’s 1998 follow up to the 1997 smash hit Walking On The Sun. It’s the song “Can't Get Enough of You Baby” from 1999 album Astro Lounge. The song though was released well early in 1998 on the Can’t Hardly Wait Soundtrack in summer 1998.

Second up!

It’s the fourth single from Green Day’s 1997 album Nimrod. With the huge success of the third single Time Of Your Life I was a year later when the fourth single got released in August of 1998. The song Nice Guys Finish Last.

Third up!

It’s one of my favorites and so called one hit wonder from the band Ben Folds Five and there 1998 album Whatever and Ever Amen. It’s the song Brick!

Last up!

It’s the first single from Alanis Morissette and her long awaited and huge pressure follow up release to her 1995 ultra huge album. The follow up failed commercially but I always liked the opening single the song Thank You.

For a bonus here’s the original Smash Mouth hit single from 1997! Walking On The Sun!

Nice picks for this Friday guys. I believe the "Thank You" song stood out from her earlier work in a way that felt more introspective. I appreciate how she shifted her style there
