Comment Rewarder! Sharing 50% of This Post's Author Rewards with Commentors

I just learned of a new service called Comment Rewarder that will share a percentage of the author rewards with people who have left good comments on the post.

It's a fascinating idea and I want to test it out.

When making a post, set @commentrewarder as a percentage beneficiary of the rewards for a post. Any comments on the posts that are upvoted by the author will be noted by the service in 3 days. When the post pays out at the end of the seventh day, every comment that was upvoted will get an equal share of that beneficiary reward! I haven't confirmed yet, but I think it's paid in liquid HIVE. I also haven't confirmed, but all comments may get some sort of share of the beneficiary reward.

We shall see, we'll learn all together!

The minimum beneficiary percentage is 3%, but I want to go big. I set the beneficiary percentage to 50%. That means that HALF of the author rewards will be distributed to comments I upvote on this post.

When I heard about this new service, I was very happy. I do not upvote comments because it lowers my VP (mana) that I want to preserve for upvoting posts. I usually reward tokens to my commentors, but this is a way to share my author rewards for all those who leave fantastic comments.

What Do You Think?

I want to know what you think. Would sharing author rewards with commentators offer further incentive to comment? Would it inspire better comments or no change?

Looking forward to the comments on this post! And seeing how the rewards work in the next week.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

Precious, I don't want you to be unhappy with me, but please understand. You're a bot, I'm a human. I can't share the comment rewards with you. I hope you understand. Wait, don't leave. We can work this out. Remember the HP delegation, precious! The delegaaaaation!

I agree! Depending on how this goes, every one of my posts from now on will distribute a percentage of author rewards to my commentators (bots excluded). !BBH

I rarely post anything but I like the interactions in the comments and give them (most of the time) 50%+ votes as a thank-you and Appreciation for the comments. The number of meaningful comments under most posts has generally gone down over time but hopefully, this comment rewarder can motivate more ppl to write comments, especially in this time of swiping and consuming

Yes and encourage authors to interact and upvote and reward, even if the upvote itself doesn't reward. It is more of a gift when it's given from the author's share. !BBH

So, you set @commentrewarder as one of the authors, and it will distribute 3 days after payout?
Hmmmmm 🤔

I hope it works out. It probably should, except for edge cases.
I prefer voting on replies. But, i have enough HP to get those to the 2¢ payout.

Most hivers would just be wasting their vote power. So, this may be an alternative. As long as the payout is large enough to send minimum payments to each contributor.

Also need to check how much RCs that commentrewarder has. It will need a lot of HP, to send all those rewards.

The cut-off for comments is 3 days. Once the post pays out in 7 days, it'll also reward the commentors. If the post is at $4.80, then $1.20 will be distributed to each account that comments on this post. Currently it's only three, so $0.40 USD each ain't too bad for a comment. !BBH

Instead of services like Comment Rewarder, the most logical solution would be to remove the $0.02 USD threshold on the technical level. For example with a hardfork.

Well, we probably really needed a percentage of HIVE price algorithm.
The 2¢ was highly supported, until the price of HIVE went up, and 2¢ became a lot easier, and then those upper level supporters screeched.

For the most part, i believe 2¢ is too high of a bar, but if you lower it too much, you get people just voting for themselves, and making too much computation for the servers.

Ted never wanted to answer me on how the long tail (they so proudly posted) was really cut much shorter than they pictured.

Yes that's true, people would probably self-vote. But besides it being frowned upon, their VP would diminish quickly and their rewards would be almost worthless. It would eventually not be worth the effort. They also would drain their resource credits, which would put a stop to any excessive drain for the servers. To get around it, they would have to buy HIVE and power up, and that's not a terrible thing.

I think the servers could handle something like a 0.001 USD threshold, even with all the "dust" transactions. I've been using dustsweeper to ensure even the small upvotes get counted.

I wonder if it pays the bot comments?
They are gonna love that, if it does.

I inquired about bots. Comment rewards only go to bot comments if if the original author upvotes the bot comments. Most people would not upvote bots comments. !BBH

What Do You Think?

People should really comment on a post, if they are actually, really interested in the content and/or in the author. This would be the natural usage. Like on any other properly working social network.

And about the Comment Rewarder service, I think that it would be the most logical solution is to remove the $0.02 USD payout threshold on the technical level (for example with a hardfork), instead of introducing services like this.

I think it is a good idea. I used it as beneficiary on my last post to check it out how it all works!

This is a good option for the generous authors whose posts got high valued upvotes! No problem for them to share a percentage of their rewards.
